Alum: Southern Lehigh’s honors and AP classes really got me ready for college, the transition from high school to college was really smooth because I had already taken hard AP/honors classes at SL. Ironically the regular or ”college prep” level classes I took, did not have prepared me.
Southern Lehigh has a lot going on and it’s well funded, sports, music, arts, etc...
The new administration has had a positive impact on the school as well. They have undoubtedly caused some issues for me personally though.
It is undoubtedly a good school in terms of education and activities but it has some work to do in other aspects.

Emmaus High School
#3 Best High Schools for STEM in Lehigh County
- East Penn School District, PA
- Rating 3.75 out of 5 350 reviews
Senior: I've had a really good experience at Emmaus High School! I've had countless opportunities for the things I'm interested in, including the school newspaper (through which I have participated in three journalism conferences, won an award in a contest, and gotten lots of good experience for my future career in journalism), the art-literary magazine, the world language programs, and multiple other clubs and activities. The school offers classes on every possible subject, so it's sometimes difficult to choose between different classes to take. The faculty and staff are wonderful, and always work to build connections with the students. I've made so many lasting connections and friendships with my teachers and peers at Emmaus, and had an amazing experience these past 4 years overall.

Northwestern Lehigh High School
#4 Best High Schools for STEM in Lehigh County
- Northwestern Lehigh School District, PA
- Rating 3.62 out of 5 192 reviews
Senior: Northwestern Lehigh high school is a great school that offers many opportunities to its students. They have an outstanding academic program that allows students freedom and flexibility with the classes they take. By offering a block schedule students only have 4 classes a semester and also have the opportunity to double up on a language or math/science in a given year. Personally, this helped me learn more of the material I was interested in and better prepared me for college and my career.
As well as there scheduling, the school is also filled with top of the line teachers who are very supportive and look to help their students each and every day.
In addition to academics, Northwestern Lehigh also has some of the best sports teams and clubs in the area. This can be attributed to the positive environments established in all of these spaces. We are consistently able to outperform other schools and I believe this one of a kind atmosphere is why.
