Alum: Amherst had a lot of opportunities for me to explore in the arts which I appreciated. As a student not involved much in the schools athletic department I was able to take many art classes including ceramics, 3-D Art, Photography, Painting. Amherst also has a great dance and intensive theater department. I got in involved with Theater sophomore and junior year the experience really allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone. Aside from the theater arts our schools efforts towards diversity and inclusion did not go unoticed. I took part in many dialogue trainings and mentorship programs working in an intimate setting with students from all racisl backgrounds to dicsuss equity and how to better our community. A lot of character building at Amherst High School which prepped my success at the University of Massachusetts Amherst once I graduated.

Senior: Incredible teachers, the most amazing experiences, and a very tight-knit peer group all make PVCICS an incredible choice for any student. There is a great deal of diversity of interests in the class -- students hoping to become neurosurgeons, fashion designers, experimental physicists -- and everyone brings a unique personality to the classroom. Because of the student:faculty ratio, classes are fairly small, so these personalities are each appreciated to an even greater extent!
The IB program is also a hugely important aspect of the school, and it provides a very rigorous education that many colleges have a great deal of respect for.

Parent: Great school. A couple teachers that lack "bedside" manner, but overall is absolutely wonderful.Teachers are great about staying after school with kids and giving them the extra help!
There are so many clubs and sports and extras activities, there is literally something for everyone. My 7th grader loves the fact that she gets to play with the high school team and compete at that level

High School Senior: Again, due to the small student population, attending school at Gateway Regional feels like I have attended school with family. The student body can't afford cliques because there simply isn't enough people to from definitive groups. In addition, the rural communities surrounding the school put distance between many of the students, so school is the one place where we can see faces from other towns. I feel everybody knows everybody and can't imagine having it any other way.

Junior: Life at BHS is pretty great. Of course, it's even better when more students participate in school events! Most teachers seem to legitimately care, and some are really excellent. Moreover, administration is so invested and dedicated that it really makes my day so much better. If you're lucky enough to go to BHS, make sure you make the most of your four years. There's so much to do and get involved in. High school's a lot shorter than it feels.
