Sophomore: I love my high school because of the students and teachers! The people are wonderful, and you can tell that people really care. I feel like I am getting a solid education and will be prepared for the years to come as I live my life in the "real world". There isn't much that I would change, but I do think that it would be very cool if we could somehow involve business within the school system. Perhaps this could look like students having opportunities to start and maintain businesses while giving other students a chance to invest or purchase from them.

Manheim Central Senior High School

Senior: Manheim Central High School provides very sought after educational options and good staffing for most of said classes. There is a wide range of classes for Language, Social Studies, Math, Science, Business and much more and each class for the most part has good teachers that will help you with your educational experience. The diversity is poor sadly and eighty percent of students are from white suburban families. Sports especially football is praised here and a little too much. No other sports get to shine here and can be looked over unless your doing really good, and for the most part, the sports teams here are good.

Senior: Overall, I was glad to attend Warwick High School. The academics are very good. The math department is great but the sciences department is weak. The teachers connect with their students and care about their overall well-being. The sports are very good especially for the schools size. Many students are involved with clubs and extracurricular. There is definitely a strong sense of community. It is a very involved student body but students are clicky.

Alum: I attended Manheim Township ever since kindergarten and I graduated from there. During my time there as a student, I would always say I hated it but honestly after graduating, I feel so honored and blessed to have been able to attend Manheim Township. I feel as though I got an amazing education and could always seek help when and if it was needed! The teachers are excellent and the environment is excellent as well.

Donegal High School

Senior: Donegal High School is not like other schools. With less than 1,000 students, there’s a sense of community in the air. Everyone is nice to each other. I’ve heard past students who come back say they’ve missed Donegal. Teachers applaud students for their behavior and work ethic. It’s apparent, Donegal students are simply kinder than everywhere else.
The teachers at Donegal are one of a kind. They genuinely care about their students. They check up on our mental health, prepare us for the real world-not just college, and love us. The teachers present material in new and inventive ways that keep students’ attention. The combination of student compassion and faculty members creates and environment I will never forget.

Alum: This high school prepared me very well for college! The content I learned in my years there was higher standard that prepared more for more intense college work. I was also impacted by many kind and caring teachers who were passionate about their subjects and were good at teaching and helping students learn. Overall there could have been better administrative policies to help with student issues and safety and promotion of clubs. School cleanliness and food could have been improved however the school is newly renovated and I have not been back to see the improvements. All in all I am glad I attended Penn Manor and although it wasn't the best at times it well prepared me for my future academic career.

Senior: In my opinion, I think this school is a great school, and has definitely become much better over the past few years. There is a lot of freedom when it comes to picking classes, which allows people to be better prepared for their desired career path. Most of the staff are great, and the students are all pretty good kids. There's little violence, and the security does a good job of preventing and stopping it. Our sports are well funded, and most of them do pretty good on average. The laptops are honestly really helpful, and make the learning experience a bit more engaging. My only complaint (which is admittedly completely subjective) is that the actual school building is quite small. I'd be interested in seeing the school building expanded to offer more classes, but I understand that getting funding can be difficult. The actual school grounds are quite big, so that helps compensate.

Senior: I really like how the teachers are so caring and are always looking out for the students. When help is needed, teachers are always there. All the faculty make time for their students and it's amazing. When teachers get the chance, they try to get one on one time with their students to make sure they understand everything that is being discussed in class.
The students at GSHS are very caring and nice. When someone is in need, they make sure they are there to help that student.

Hempfield Senior High School

Alum: My time at Hempfield was overall very enjoyable. The student body is very diverse, both ethnically and ideologically. If you find the right people to hang out with, you will have a great time there. My teachers and counselors were all very supportive of their students and there was always someone to go to if you needed something. Hempfield is also a school that recognizes the benefits of the art and music programs, and these departments rarely receive budget cuts. Hempfield prepares students well for college by encouraging students to advocate for themselves, while giving a little more teacher encouragement than you would find at college. The school offers a wide range of unique clubs and extracurricular activities that appeal to students of all kinds. Hempfield offers many Advanced Placement classes in each core subject as well as foreign languages, computer science, art, and others. Overall, I would classify Hempfield as a good academic and cultural environment for students.

Alum: I very much enjoyed my time at Conestoga Valley HS. The school continues to increase in its diversity, which is encouraging and there were a number of clubs and activities that students could be involved in. The school is made up of some excellent educators, however, the administration does not always match up with that. In my time there, they were not effective at handling situations that arose that could damage their image as an administration. They seem to have been in an enormous amount of debt while I was there, which appears most prominently in the quality of their facilities. Nevertheless, the STEM programs, as well as the drama program seem not to have taken a hit, and I was always impressed at the opportunities presented to students in these areas. I just wished the music and arts programs continued to receive the same support. Sports are average, but the district does not always seem to do the best at hiring the best coaches to facilitate success.

McCaskey High School Campus

- Lancaster School District, PA
- 329 reviews
Senior: Mccaskey, I really cannot find myself being fair to them in the sense that I wasn’t there for the whole Higschool year, but rather I was a transfer student. Overall, it was an eye-opening experience. A real life experience. This means you saw and heard things that you weren’t necessarily in favor of. Because it happens all the time. Good or bad, it’s there. I personally am glad I didn’t quit when I thought I was. I was procrastinating, and I would usually blame it on the teachers handing out easy assignments. Until I heard my English teacher, one of the few significant teachers in the climate. He said, “Success is determined on your input.”
It was more wiser than what I made it into a consensus of, but it helped me make it through my junior year, because I came from a technical highschool, where most things were filtered, we even had dress code. Some teachers were a hit a miss, but I’m blessed with the teachers I personally was able to meet. Thank you Mccaskey.

Alum: I started going to Columbia in 7th grade and I excelled all throughout school up until I graduated and it paid off, literally. There were so many scholarships available and the faculty and staff were so helpful throughout my entire high school experience. Playing sports was an awesome experience at a small school you get lots of support. The sense of closeness and community was a plus in such a small town. I can't stress how important my teachers were in preparing me for college and really life in general even when they weren't teaching they taught lessons outside of lessons. I enjoyed my experience at Columbia junior senior high school and the faculty was a huge part of that.

Senior: Most teachers are very nice! Staff and aids are amazing and cheerful! Food in the cafeteria could be better, but there is a lot of options. Academics are great. They're challenging and interesting at the same time. I'm not a part of any music program like band, chorus, or orchestra. I think that are music program is very good compared to other schools in the same area.

Alum: It's a pretty good high school located in a safe area. The teachers care about their students, and there are several AP classes and programs to prepare students for college, tech school, or the workforce. They partner with Ephrata National Bank to offer some of the most scholarships at the high school level in Pennsylvania, and possible the mid-Atlantic area.

Alum: I was very involved at Solanco High School before I graduated. With my involvement, I was able to connect very closely with students, faculty, and administration. The administrators strived for students to be prepared to go out to the workforce, trade school, community college, or a four-year institution. Solanco Highschool welcomed students from all kinds of backgrounds creating a diverse community where all students were and truly felt accepted. Finding clubs and academics that suited the student was very easy as there was a class or a club for everything from agriculture to gaming. I am thankful that I was able to graduate from such a great school like Solanco Highschool as it prepared me for all aspects of my college career and in life.

Senior: Kennard-Dale High School is a very welcoming place. Students, teachers, and administrators are always helpful and respectful. The academics are demanding, especially with the honors and advanced classes. If you are having difficulty in a class though, the teachers are more than willing to work with you - you just need to ask. I am planning to go to college after high school and I definitely feel like I will be well-prepared academically. Outside of the classroom, there are a variety of clubs and activities available for students to participate in. There are a lot of clubs that help support diversity and unity which is valuable. There is something for everyone.
