Compared to other independent college prep institutions, RMA is a small school. However, we were thoroughly impressed with the diversity that we saw during the summer camp program; We were pleased to see that it carried over to the academic year. ...The curriculum is rigorous. The staff is caring. There are a variety of extracurricular activities that are day and boarding inclusive. Parent: We switched to Sheridan during the pandemic joining a small community that focused on the safety of our children while limiting the disruption to their education. The administration did a stellar job. What truly stands out is how well rounded a Sheridan education is. In addition to the more traditional academics, its arts and music instruction as well as its focus on diverse communities through the student clubs is truly exceptional. We chose a K-8 school because of the added focus on the middle school years which can be difficult transition years. As the school skews young the older kids don’t grow up too fast. This is a gentle school. Middle school students mentor the lower school students. My son loves his mentor and he looks forward to becoming a mentor to a lower school student himself. Finally, Sheridan is a school that builds confidence. In 7th grade, students lead their own high school selection under the guidance of their teachers. Senior: My high school experience at Bishop Mcnamara, I see as a privledge . Being able to come up with the finances and tools to experience a private school education is one I see now as a great investment and amazing oppurtunity. Each day when I walk into Bishop Mcnamara I am greeted with a smile, a how are you doing or a pat on the back from my administration or a staff member. I am constantly challenged to think and push myself through my variety of AP, college prep and honors courses. The challenge and love doesn't stop in the classroom. Involved in every single dance art possible, my plate is definitely a full one. But I see that my school sees art as an importance to me, so they make it a priority to be of importance to them. I am thankful for Bishop Mcnamara and how it has shaped me as a individual, performer of the arts and as a student.
