Pine View School
1 Best Public Elementary Schools in America
- Sarasota County Schools, FL
Senior: I loved it, I thought it was a great college prep and education all around! I wish there were High school sports, but playing for your districted school was good. I thought most of my teachers were great, the administration was really helpful and actually wanted you to succeed, and even helped in doing so!

Senior: Great Heart Academies are an excellent way to prepare for college. Not only are you academically challenged in math and science, but you get to delve into great books. It was challenge for me and stressful but in the end, it is definitely worth it!

Minnesota Connections Academy
- Online School
- Saint Paul, MN
Senior: In my experience as a student at connections academy, I was very impressed with the online teachers and counselors level of care and commitment. My parents were very impressed by the school's communication system which allowed them to keep track of my progress. We also appreciated the amount of field trips and opportunities to interact with the different students. I also greatly appreciated the flexibility of the online courses. My teachers were very helpful when I would fall a little behind on my assignments by helping me understand the material better with one on one live lesson sessions. The teachers and counselors were always very prompt with responding to emails. Sometimes they would respond within the hour. One of the only things I would change would be to add teacher evaluations at the end of the year. I feel this would help the students ensure they are getting the best education possible.

Littlebrook Elementary School

- PK, K-5
Parent: We moved to Little Brook Elementary from a different school district in New Jersey and I must commend in the way this school is run. The teachers are amazing, the PTA is doing a remarkable job being instrumental in so many different ways and the parents are fully engaged.
This is like one big family that is constantly striving to challenge and motivate the younger generation to be successful.

Lusher Charter School
11 Best Public Elementary Schools in America
- Orleans Parish Public Schools, LA
Freshman: I love it, I’m challenged academically and individually, and have made long-lasting bonds and memories. Although the elementary struggles with diversity, the middle and high school are full of it. The student life is... something else. I like this though, we're smart but almost always in some sort of ridiculous situation. Some moonwalk down the hallway, scaring touring parents, accidentally drop their spare underwear on the football field, surf down the hallway on ketchup packets, witness substitutes lose class pets, or leave milk trails around the school. At one point, we only had one security guard, a wide-open football field gate, and one nurse, who shifted between schools throughout the week, and we enjoyed it. We could pull shenanigans then and now. At the elementary location, the disciplinary precautions were silly, but after "disciplining" to no avail, they changed (thank c/o 2022). The dress code is "sexist" but be lowkey and you'll slide, plus no one cares anymore.

El Carmelo Elementary School

Parent: Both of my children attend El Carmelo, and we absolutely love it. The rigorous academics, the social/emotional awareness with Project Cornerstone, the caring teachers and staff, the engaged parents and PTA. Truly a gem in South Palo Alto!

Parent: Gilman gets boys! Across all levels, lower, middle and upper school, the teachers, administrators and staff understand and relate to the boys. I have been particularly impressed with how they help to develop boys into independent, confident, honorable young men. My boys have been challenged and pushed to strive to be better in academics, sports, leadership and other areas. The school continually pushes itself as an institution to better itself - stay on top of changes in education, changes in the way boys learn - constantly wanting to improve itself. It turns to parents, to the community, to its alums to find the answers. Setting an example of being a leader for their own students.

Self Development Academy
13 Best Public Elementary Schools in America
- Public School
- Mesa, AZ
Works Here: I have been teaching at Self Development for five years now and have loved every minute of it. The high level of academics expected from our students is one of the defining features here. The students work at 1-2 years above grade level in all subjects with a continuous review of the basics at grade level to make sure there are no gaps in their learning. This means as a teacher that I am able to teach works like To Kill a Mockingbird or Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. However, the best aspect of this school is the community that we have built. In the middle school, the teachers know all of the students and work with the child as a whole to make sure they have the support that they need. This is an amazing school and I love teaching here!

Basis Tucson Primary School
15 Best Public Elementary Schools in America
- Public School
- Tucson, AZ
High School Senior: At my high school, the academic requirements would be considered rigorous and overwhelming by most. While yes, this would be fairly true, as 6 APs are required to be taken and most take around 10, it is all for the preparation of higher level academic work, which, as I have heard from alumni of the school, is definitely worth it. Although this work is difficult, the teachers and upperclassmen are always willing to help with any problems encountered, which helps create a closer knit community and a positive atmosphere. While it does eat up a bit of time, as all classes are either AP or Honors classes, this taught most of us time management. Also, many may worry about the amount of sleep, but they are just classes, they have lots of homework at some times, and little at others, and sleep is usually cut due to social media and games, not class work.

Ithan Elementary School
16 Best Public Elementary Schools in America
- Radnor Township School District, PA
Parent: We started at Ithan last year and have had a great experience. The teachers are top notch and really care about the kids. My son flourished, was challenged, was well supported and made a ton of great friends. There are tons of opportunities for parent and family involvement, and all of the ithan families we have met so far have been wonderful and very involved in their kids education. There seems to be good support for special education needs and great communication from the school. Looking forward to the next many years at Ithan with all of our kids!

A.D. Henderson University School & FAU High School
17 Best Public Elementary Schools in America
- Public School
- Boca Raton, FL
Senior: FAU High School is AMAZING. It allowed me to dual enroll at Florida Atlantic University. I am now 17 with 82 credits towards my degree. I will graduate with a bachelors at 19, and hopefully enter dental school at that age. I can' even believe 9t myself. The possibilities here are incomparable. Everyone here WANTS you to succeed just as much as yourself. I am constantly getting emails from my counselors, principal and old teachers about opportunities they want us to take part in. I have had the most wonderful experience I could ever ask for. I highly encourage everyone to apply.

Peak to Peak Charter School
18 Best Public Elementary Schools in America
- Boulder Valley School District, CO
Senior: Peak to Peak is a great school academic wise, there are lots of high level classes available for kids that want to take them. My experience with the counseling staff has been wonderful. They really care about the students and really are trying to work on the problem of competitiveness and 'grade-focused' aspect of the school. I wish the school was a little bigger; everybody knows everybody and everything about their personal lives which can be really tough at times and has even been a contributing factor to students leaving the school. However the size of the school allows for a hands on learning environment and great relationships with the teachers. They all really care about the students as people and truly want to help them exceed. The only other thing I would change would be school spirit, we don't have a football team, and sports games aren't regularly attended. The main option for food sometimes isn't the best but there is are wonderful soups, subs and salads.

Lakeville Elementary School
22 Best Public Elementary Schools in America
- Great Neck Public Schools, NY
Senior: I liked that there were multiple classes that you could take. The teachers are very experienced and most have been teaching for many years. The school however has strict rules. For example, they have banned fidget spinners and Pokemon cards, as they were getting distracting. The school is about 80% Asian. I like how Lakeville spreads the message of respect.
