Senior: I really have enjoyed my time at Marquette. Overall it is a great school that I am glad I am able to graduate from. Though I have made many lasting memories and have enjoyed my time, Marquette can sometimes be not so great. During my sophomore year we went through 2 geometry/trigonometry teachers and were left without a geometry teacher for about a month during the second semester before a replacement was found. I would say the amount of new teachers and the constant changing of teachers would be Marquette’s biggest fault. They’re really not the greatest at being able to keep their teachers and I have found that quite troublesome. Alum: The school is for those who are interested in the priesthood to the Legion of Christ, and I personally loved it. It's a boarding school and there are only 40 kids from 7th to 12th grade. There are no girls. The campus is amazing and beautiful.... Read 2 reviews

Niche User: VCA offers an amazing Christ center education, definitely different from any public school. The friendships are genuine, the staff is wonderful, personable and care about the students, the small teacher to student ratio allows this. A few down sides to VCA are that they do not offer many electives, nor a dual credit college programs. The lunch program comes from the public school program and is terrible! A small school like this could offer home cooked healthy meals and snacks. They have a good athletic program, but due to size of the building there aren't any locker rooms or showers. They are not very diverse but represents the non-diverse Valparaiso community and the school does not offer a bus service or have buses, which makes away sport games and field trips a big mess of car pulling. Parent: Our first year at Immanuel has been an awesome experience. It connected us to an amazing community and education for our kids. My kindergartner was immediately embraced and supported, and my preschooler is eager to go to school every day. They’ve both grown so much this year, and our family has benefited as well! The Christian environment means they focus on what our family values most, but it’s just one of the many reasons we’re thankful to have our kids at Immanuel. While other schools are cutting music and arts, Immanuel continues to see the benefits of these programs. My kids are excelling in areas I never would’ve been expecting. I love hearing about what they’re learning and seeing the new projects they’re working on. The teachers are committed and so caring. I feel good about sending my kids here each day.... Alum: I moved to this area when I was in first grade. So coming to a new school and new area was scary. I did not know anyone in my class. Parent: Small private school that offers Catholic education with multi-age classrooms and blended Montessori-style hands-on learning that focuses on educating the whole child- mind, heart, spirit, and body! You do not have to be Catholic to attend and all children will find a love of learning at this school. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to participate and be involved with the school on all levels. We love it here and have seen a massive improvement not only in behavior, but in academics in our son from the previous year he spent at the area public schools. If you desire your child to have the best education available in the New Buffalo area- it is here at St. Mary's, not the public school. Tuition is very reasonable and daycare is available before and after school! Pre-K through 8th grade is offered.
