Senior: Coming to Westtown has been one of the greatest decisions I have made to date. Westtown has allowed me to gain experience in leadership, as well as build strong bonds with my peers and faculty. The academics are challenging, but not to the point where it consumes you, and there is plenty of support for students. I've had the wonderful opportunity to try new things and explore, and I learn more about myself every day while there. The fact that it is a Quaker school also adds a unique experience to Westtown. You don't have to be a Quaker to attend, but religious diversity is celebrated at Westtown, as well as learning about other religions. As a Muslim, Westtown has supported me tremendously throughout the month of Ramadan. All in all, a wonderful experience. Senior: Overall, my experience at Tower Hill has been positive. It is truly a college prep school, most alumni will say that Tower Hill was equally as hard – or easier than – their college. The things they teach as early as middle school are important life skills that will set you ahead in college, like structuring a five paragraph essay and learning study skills. The staff is wonderful and it is very clear that they care about their students. They are always willing to go the extra mile to help students one-on-one. If I could change one thing about the school, it would be the diversity. Although they have made growing efforts to increase diversity in the community since I came in second grade, such as admitting students from different financial backgrounds and hiring more diverse staff, there is still much work to be done to make Tower Hill a truly diverse community.... Sophomore: I have truly enjoyed my experience at Archmere Academy. Coming from a large public middle school, to a small, Catholic school was a big transition for me. I love the academic opportunities at the school. Not only can I challenge myself and find classes that interest me, I also have teachers who are passionate about what they teach and are always willing to help students understand via one-on-one time, questions in class, or new lessons. I personally enjoy the arts program and the athletics program; both showcase the talent of the students and allows students to channel their energies. Senior: Tatnall is a pretty good school all things considered. The campus is beautiful and everyone there is friendly and welcoming for the most part. They have some good sports teams and a nice schedule for the students giving down time throughout the day to get other work done. My only complaint would be the math department. Which is really bad at Tatnall and all the students know it. It is a shame all of the money for tuition and these are the kind of teachers they hire. That may sound harsh but it is true. And if you want to send your kids here it would be best to start them early because it will be tougher on them trying to make friends when almost everyone else is a lifer there. In short, I would send my kids here because they have good college counseling that will be very useful in getting into their desired college. Parent: Sending our sons to Salesianum School was the best decision we ever made. I have three sons with very different interests. My boys have participated in band, theatre, Science Olympiad, basketball, soccer, baseball, tailgate club, ping pong club, guitar club and others. Academically I could not ask for more. My oldest two sons were both accepted into many colleges with scholarships and are currently in the Honors Program at UD. Sallies prepared them with the study and organizational skills to be independent and successful in college and later in life. The best part about Sallies is the brotherhood. My sons have each met "their people" and have made life long friends. My two sons in college still hang out with their Sallies friends on breaks. Sallies teaches the students about hard work and dedication as well as humility and compassion for others. Sallies develops the students to be well rounded respectful adults. Sophomore: Ursuline is a fantastic community full of amazing teachers, staff, and students. I have attended Ursuline since I was in kindergarden, and I am privileged to be a part of such a wonderful school! The classes are extremely immersive and the teachers are very supportive and able to offer one on one attention and guidance when needed. The classes are all focused on increasing confidence and leadership skills, while also challenging you to push yourself to learn on new levels. The sisterhood at Ursuline is also an incredible thing to experience. All of the girls are so kind and welcoming, and it truly makes you feel so accepted and connected to everyone. Senior: There are many things to be said for Saint Elizabeth High School. The small environment allows for a close, familial feel, and I can say I know everyone in my graduating class. It also offers a good range of programs, sports, and classes. There is also an ease in connect with teachers and communicating issues with administrative staff. Nearly all teachers respond to emails quickly. I would not change much about the school, but I would’ve liked more AP classes, along with teachers who are more comfortable with the subject matter he or she is teaching. Niche User: My 2 grandchildren attend Concord Christian Academy. They started in K4 and the oldest is now in 3rd grade. I have felt blessed since day one when were leaving and the school secretary said a sweet goodbye to my granddaughter and used her name. I was impressed! I thank God every day for this school. The teachers are all very caring and go above and beyond to make sure the students succeed. They are available to us anytime via text, phone or in person. Any issues or problems are handled right away. It's very diverse and like a family. Our 2nd and 3rd grader are learning things their 4th grade friend is not taught in public school. Nothing but positive things to say and feel about CCA. Also for a school this size there are good sports, art, computer, gym, music and language classes for all! Parent: My son joined The Walden School in middle school. Coming from a smaller elementary school we were hoping he'd choose The Walden School over the public middle school due to its size and stellar reputation in the community. Luckily, he wanted to attend Walden after even the first visit! Everyone from the support staff to the classroom teachers have been kind, welcoming, and supportive. When I think of how we're trying to raise our son I feel confident The Walden School mirrors our values and morals. They instill virtues such as empathy and kindness all within a less pressure, but nonetheless solid and challenging academic program. This school has so many positives- a tight knit community, lovely staff, a focus on the individual needs of each child, and even yummy lunch choices. A bonus is we love seeing him happy at recess and on the playground still...something most middle schools do away with. Works Here: Genuinely caring faculty who really embrace students as individuals and educate the entire child. Alum: My experience at Saint Anastasia was amazing. I made incredible friends there that I will be with stay in contact with for the rest of my life. The school itself is one one the most extraordinary places with an amazing gym to participate in activities and it has really clean and beautiful classrooms. It has the best learning environment and the teachers are always looking to help out with anyone who is struggling. St. Annies also teaches students to have discipline and a dedication to school which is sometimes missing it other schools. Parent: We chose to pull our children from public school to place them at Saints Simon and Jude. We weren't sure what to expect, as two of our four children have IEPs. We are pleased to say we are so happy with our decision. Our family was welcomed with open arms to this outstanding community of people from day one, and we continue to develop friendships with each new school year. Being able to raise our children with the ethics and morals taught daily at Catholic school was something we never knew we missed until we had it!
