Students can explore and succeed in a many fields including Computer Science, the Arts or an additional language. After school, students are engaged in a required extracurricular activity. Many students opt for sports, which all have practices in state-of-the-art facilities with the guidance of devoted coaches. I've been on the swim team for the past year, and have found team culture to be wonderful and supportive. Senior: As a student who has attended the Wilberforce school from 8-12th grade with siblings currently in the lower and middle school, I have experienced much of the school in its entirety. I transferred from a local public school and a couple things I would highlight: 1. The Wilberforce school functions on a classical curriculum. Therefore, everyone takes mostly all the same classes. Personally, I love the small classes and intimate learning environment that Wilberforce fosters. Whereas I experienced a lot of Chromebook work in public school, there is a focus on discussion and paper and pen work at Wilberforce which made it easier for me to learn. 2. The teachers are AMAZING. They have not only helped me to grow in areas I previously had low confidence in (ie math, public speaking), but also have grown me as a whole person. Junior: I have been at Timothy since Kindergarten and am now currently a junior. I have loved all 12 years that I have been here and it has been an amazing experience! Timothy has provided me with plenty of opportunities both academically, spiritually, and athletically. In the realm of athletics, I am currently a 4 sport athlete doing soccer, basketball, track, and baseball for Timothy. Senior: I came to Calvary in sixth grade, and it honestly has changed my life. In my almost seven years of being enrolled, I have grown closer to God and my fellow students, learning so much. I have always felt welcomed by both students and staff. Something we could improve upon would be having a janitorial staff working throughout the day, as well as possibly organizing school events better, with staff actively involved in students' lives. Parent: My daughter has been attending St James since kindergarten and I’m overall very happy with the school as it provides learning experiences which are difficult to find in public school. The biggest one is the emphasis on character development as there are many ways they foster this such as buddying older students with younger and encouraging students to get involved in the school and church community. There is also a strong parent teacher organization which runs numerous events throughout the school year which the children enjoy and far beyond what would be found in most public schools. Parent: One of the best decisions I have ever made for my son. He was failing in public school once he was in 3rd grade. This started affecting him mentally being that he always did well in his previous grades. He became reserved and did not want to go to school. He had no friends because he could not relate with his classmates. When I sent him to St Bartholomew for his 4th grade, he had no problem fitting in. He made a lot of friends right away.
