Parent: Phillips Academy offers an excellent education for the student who asks, "What more is there?" "Who else can I meet?" "I want to learn about..." Andover is a large school supported by passionate and intelligent faculty, students and staff who all contribute to the intellectual and supportive environment. Nearly half of the students are on scholarship thereby enabling a diversity of domestic and international students to access the campus and curriculum. According to my kids, everyone there is excited to learn, happy to help out and passionate about what they are doing. They are thankful for their opportunity. I give Andover 4 stars because unless you come in as a D1 athlete, they don't support a student to grow into an athlete & will cut students at a low level. I believe all students should be supported despite whether they play in a game. Lastly, the cost of attending is not fully transparent: For those who do not qualify: tuition is $70,000 plus 4%+ a year so plan ahead.... Read 160 reviews

Parent: I have two Children who attend Brooks. Both are 4 year boarders. The opportunity each of them has been given in attending Brooks as been incredible. They have been challenged in and out of the classroom. The academics are challenging, but are done in an environment that is always supportive, with a lot of encouragement to strive to be and do your best. My children have forged wonderful relationships with many of their teachers, advisors and coaches; ones that will last a lifetime. The school is very warm and welcoming, and has the feel of being "home". Athletics at Brooks are a great compliment to the academics. Brooks is always competitive in so many of their athletic teams. Brooks transitioned so quickly and so well to online learning during this past Spring when schools were forced to close. Parent: We currently have 2 children ages 6 & 8 at the Lower School. We couldn't be happier with the Teachers, Administration, Volunteers, and total Community at BCA! Our Kindergartener started reading at 5 years of age after entering the start of the school year not knowing all the letters or sounds. Our 2nd Grader is excelling at reading, math, and takes piano offered at the school! The teacher to student ratio is unmatched and the BCA community is personal, available, and supportive. My children's favorite time of the day (besides recess) is bible study. They cannot get enough of the stories! Teachers are able to give their personal attention to those who need it. Junior: My experience at Austin Prep has been amazing. There are so many ways to get involved in the school community like joining student-run clubs, athletic teams, and other extracurricular activities. The academics are rigorous but prepare students for college by giving them time management skills, a strong work ethic, and good study habits. Senior: Central has always and will continue to be a "home away from home" of sorts. It really is the most welcoming community I've ever been a part of, and the opportunities there are countless both academically, athletically, and socially. I think if there were one thing I would be looking to change, it would be providing more money towards the tech department. The ACADEMIC side of the classical sciences such as biology, chemistry, and physics have no shortage of funding, but CCHS does lack some skill development in more specific engineering and computer science fields. There are a lot of "CS Basics" classes and "Engineering 101" classes, but there aren't enough resources to develop an academic track for students looking to pursue STEM fields outside the classic sciences at CCHS. Parent: Trinity has been a great experience for my family. My son has enjoyed his 4 years there and has excelled academically and socially. The staff and school do an tremendous job in preparing these students for college and be able to go out into the world and be successful. The challenging academics they offer really an realistic prep for what is to come for the next level. The athletics are great, he participated in golf and baseball, with supportive coaches and staff. Trinity creates a sense of belonging, being a small private school the staff and administrators help new students feel at ease when coming to a new school, my son was welcomed with open arms. The guidance staff is outstanding, they do a one on one walkthrough with each student it help them with there college essays and with ACT and SAT testing prep. Parent: Classic curriculum. Strong faith-based teaching. We have two children with different styles of learning and they are well accommodated. Small school. Tight knit community. Kindness pervades all aspects of life at this school; from teachers who care genuinely about their pupils mastering the subjects as well as applying the socratic method to debate and understand. The kids are well adjusted, kind, inclusive, confident and gracious. Multi-cultural, multi-racial mix. Everybody pitches in to make the school successful - parents as coaches, organizers, volunteers, board members, school leadership playing similar roles. Relaxed, tolerant environment. HFA feels like a different world than the lop-sided, oversensitive, angry and judgmental world we live in. Freshman: Mount Zion Christian Schools has been a large part of my life. I'm so glad I've been at this school for nine years and I really appreciate all the fun memories and close relationships I've obtained over the years. Mount Zion has an advanced teaching style which goes over the average. Classes are small, but that only increases the welcoming atmosphere. Everyone is friends with everyone. Teachers clearly care about their students and can have more focus on each individual. I find myself talking to teachers with more respect than I would with a teacher who just sees me as an everyday student. Teachers give their all for their students. The school has made many accommodations for me and my family. I follow a Messianic faith, which means I have food restrictions and I have certain holidays I have to take off of school for. Senior: I really love that it is such a big school! There are so many amazing opportunities, like unique elective classes or niche extracurriculars. You are always surrounded by interested people too. However, the size of the school doesn't make you feel lost, I easily found my group of friends and my support system. Parent: First and foremost, we’d like to thank ALCS for the common sense, balanced approach to keeping our children safe without disrupting their education and social well-being during COVID-19. Our child joined the school in 6th grade, and we have found it to be a nurturing environment where he has the freedom to learn without many of the distractions found in public schools today. The teachers make a conscious effort to explore different teaching methods to keep the children engaged. This includes taking the children outside whenever possible to learn. Middle School Student: What I liked about Lawrence Catholic Academy was that it provided me with small classroom setting, which helped me a lot.
