Senior: I have had an excellent highschool experience at FCA. The staff are amazing and genuinely care about each student. There has always been a welcoming and fun atmosphere with the student body . The school has a great stem program along with other extra curricular activities such as drama, music, and a variety of sports. The only thing I would change would be to update the facility . Parent: Last year, my son in kindergarten, and daughter in first grade, were both falling behind in public school. My daughter still didn’t know all her letter sounds and could barely read or write full words. Growing up, my husband and I both attended a Christian School and knew Belleview could positively impact our kids, both academically and spiritually. We found Belleview and enrolled the kids immediately. By April of that same school year, the results of the Stanford Achievement Test indicated that my daughter had reached a near 7th grade reading comprehension level. This year, she is earning an A+ in Spelling and Phonics and my son has excelled in Math and Science. Both of them continue to thrive at Belleview and are growing in their relationship with the Lord! Junior: Flatirons Academy (previously Cornerstone Christian Academy when I arrived there) had its pros and cons. It was what I needed in order to grow academically, emotionally, and mentally. It introduced me to so many amazing teachers and staff who weren’t afraid to go above and beyond to care for their students. I got the chance to grow, learn, and make new experiences. Overall, the school served its purpose for me. I had my hard moments, I had some boring ones, and I had some amazing times from a community that wanted to bring the best to the table. I also had some less than exemplary teachers, but they did their best and I’m thankful for the experience it taught me. Also, that’s a part of all schools, so it’s not too surprising. Sophomore: This is a really good school and has formed me as a student, worker, and person who everyone loves and has taught me how to be a man and woman for others. The teachers and staff all care about their students and you can tell by the way they talk to you and give you one-on-one advice and create this teacher-to-student bond that really makes students want to go to school and learn. Parent: It’s hard to put into our words the love and gratitude we have for Friends’ School. We have two kids attending, one at the middle school and one at the elementary. This is a special school! Parent: I really can't say enough about how much our family appreciates and loves St. Elizabeth's. Our daughter has been there for first and second grade, starting during a time when DPS was shut down due to COVID. (St. Elizabeth's had such incredible leadership, staff and community that it was able to stay open.) She has excelled there. We feel that her emotional, psychological, intellectual, artistic and physical needs are all more than met by the school, and are truly impressed by the absolute quality of her overall education. Beyond the education is the school itself, which upholds values that are extremely important to our family. The sliding scale tuition ensures true socio-economic diversity. The focus on social impact, diversity, inclusion, equality and empowerment is so refreshing – and genuine. And the staff and faculty! Parent: My experience with Nativity for the last 10 years has been wonderful. My children are eager to to to school. The sense of community that both my children and I feel is second to none. We have both made life long friends. There are so many opportunities to be involved for both parents and students. I feel my high schooler was very well prepared for the college-prep curriculum at Holy Family High School by attending Nativity Catholic School. Middle School Student: I like that Zion has very compassionate teachers and they are very Christ-like. The teachers support you and truly care about their students. The student- teacher ratio is very small compared to other schools, so the teachers build relationships with their students. The teachers teach students at Zion work ethics, high school readiness, and a deeper understanding of the subjects. The school is small so they do not have as many sports as public schools, but that is to be expected. The one thing, I would like to see change is the office lady or admin assistant. Parent: We joined the Sacred Heart community for our 2 daughters during the 2020-21 school year. They had been attending a BVSD neighborhood school and transferred to SHJ due to the COVID pandemic. We expected to stay for a year and feel it out. Our children loved the school, so here we are in our 3rd year! As parents, we love the small class sizes, which lends itself to more individualized learning. We also love the care and concern the teachers show to our children. One aspect that we didn’t foresee when sending our girls to SHJ was the lessons in respect, responsibility and accountability. We have these values at home, and it is great to have a school that supports and teaches these lessons in the classroom.
