Alum: I loved my three years there! I have had invaluable once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and experiences here and I have grown so much from my journey! Parent: PDS is a diverse independent school with many great characteristics. The academics and curriculum are very thorough and definitely help students get ready for what comes next. This school also has many sports facilities that are utilized for skating, squash, tennis, volleyball, basketball, and hockey. The cafeteria, in the center of the building, holds a vast amount of people with booths and tables. The food, aside from being delicious, is organic and comes from the garden. There is additionally a chicken coop and garden classroom. Besides these, the school has a well developed art and music system. Niche User: Stuart really provides a very individualized education for girls. I have noticed an attention to the specific learning styles, interests, and needs of every student. Parent: Our son is a senior who has attended The Pennington School since his freshman year and his experience has been tremendous! He has friends from all over the world, his classes have had about 8 to 13 students in each which has translated to personalized and high-level instruction with active student engagement/participation every day, he's participated in sports and multiple activities, clubs and fundraisers all 4 years including tutoring students in Malawi, being part of the Global Studies program, and serving on the "Green Team" where he has been able to make an environmental impact. We hosted 2 international students his soph year who have become family. And he is already set up with where he will attend college next year. This school offers so much that it has been a gift that he has been able to attend for his high school years. Senior: As a student who has attended the Wilberforce school from 8-12th grade with siblings currently in the lower and middle school, I have experienced much of the school in its entirety. I transferred from a local public school and a couple things I would highlight: 1. The Wilberforce school functions on a classical curriculum. Therefore, everyone takes mostly all the same classes. Personally, I love the small classes and intimate learning environment that Wilberforce fosters. Whereas I experienced a lot of Chromebook work in public school, there is a focus on discussion and paper and pen work at Wilberforce which made it easier for me to learn. 2. The teachers are AMAZING. They have not only helped me to grow in areas I previously had low confidence in (ie math, public speaking), but also have grown me as a whole person. Sophomore: I have thoroughly enjoyed Hun. The classes are challenging, the teachers engaging, the extracurriculars are what you make them and the sports teams are both welcoming and as competitive ad you want. The POC are welcome and I have not experienced or seen or heard of any difficulties with students or teachers. The school has a vibrant international population and a nice mix of day students where we can all be friends. Hun is a very welcoming community of learners. The administration is very thoughtful. Glad I chose Hun and I look forward to another great year unmasked! I will be working more with college counseling which seems to be a phenomenal group according to friends in their junior year. Junior: I have been a student here for 3 years now, and I have had quite the experience with this school. The teachers here are supportive and kind-they really want you to succeed. The students here are like every other school, we have the popular kids and the loners. This school is overall amazing, though it has some underlying flaws. The diversity is not the best, which anyone can see. But in order to add more inclusion into our school, we have the SHADES club, which is a club for people of color, where they can celebrate their differences. Parent: My children started at Princeton Montessori School when they were each 2-years-old. For early childhood education, no one in the area does it better. Yesterday, when I was picking up my 6-year-old, a girl was literally wailing as her mom picked her up because she wanted to stay at school longer to finish working. That's how you know you're in the right place! Everything from the beautiful classrooms, to the engaging hands-on lesson materials, to the warm and caring teachers and administrators, to the friendly and respectful students, makes this place a unicorn. The school is accredited at the highest level by the American Montessori Society (the gold standard for Montessori education) and also operates a teacher training institute, so you know you are getting the best of the best. My eldest did a grade at public school and we were underwhelmed in many ways and, worst of all, my child was bored. We came back to Princeton Montessori School and haven't looked back. Parent: Princeton Friends School is a truly amazing learning community. My son has been enrolled for two years now, and we plan to stay until he moves on to high school. Ever since he started as a Pre-K student, he has made leaps and bounds in his social emotional skills and has begun to develop academically along the way. I value the individualized instruction, attention to the learner as a whole being, and variety of opportunities outside of the classroom to get dirty in the garden and art studio, move his body in yoga and circus squad, and develop music and language skills. Works Here: The Laurel School is a wonderful community! The faculty and administration truly care about the students and are very much involved with the success of each student! Parent: I can honestly say that Princeton Academy delivers on their promise of bringing out the best in boys. Princeton and its environs have so many great options of schools, however, no other school, in my opinion, places as much emphasis on how they develop their students to be good people. As parents it is sometimes tempting to focus on the obvious benefits of private schools: small class sizes, high caliber academics, etc., but what Princeton Academy offers is that AND more: character building, spiritual nourishment, life skills, moral guidance, mindful reflection - the list goes on. The school year was interrupted by COVID-19, but the school quickly implemented a plan for remote learning. As a result, we do not feel that our children missed out on any educational opportunities. Our fifth grader wrote a reflection piece about his school year and we wanted to share a quote: "Other schools didn't care if one flower in the garden dies, because they had the whole rest of the garden.
