Parent: Our daughter currently attends Greenhills and started as a freshman. The quality of the teaching is outstanding and the students are kind and welcoming. It’s a terrific school. It may be viewed as STEM-focused, and it is certainly great in those areas, but they also have great social science, history, performing arts, and language programs. There’s something for everyone. I do wish they combined Health and Fresh in 9th grade. Fresh ended up being a study hall much of the time and to force the kids to spend two class periods on non-academic and non-art subjects isn’t ideal. Their intention with Fresh was good, and I appreciate the thoughtfulness behind it, but it doesn’t warrant devoting a yearlong class to it. This is a minor quibble, though, and overall our daughter, and we as parents, are thrilled with Greenhills. It is worth repeating: the teachers are fantastic. Senior: Grades K-8, I went to public schools in South Lyon. I was not expecting to attend Detroit Catholic Central. However, I am very glad that I did attend Detroit Catholic Central. I have learned that it is okay to ask for help. Many of my teachers have taken valuable time out of their life to give me extra help. They have helped me grow in my faith throughout high school. They have also opened up many doors when it comes to college and making connections with people. There have been numerous times that I have already connected with Catholic Central grads in college and in the work world. The athletics have also been very impressive at Catholic Central. I have played in the State semifinals in the last two years in lacrosse. While I've attended Catholic Central, many state championships and even national championships have been won in numerous sports. Our two in college graduated from Novi Christian in 2017 (attended since preschool) and scored a 33 Composite and 32 Composite on the ACT. They both recieved the maximum scholarship available at their respective colleges. Parent: The teachers, assistant and administrators at LCS are second to none! They care about each and every student and go above and beyond to ensure each one has an opportunity to thrive academically. Each of my children are so grateful for the loving, Christian environment where they are able to hear about Jesus every day. Excellent student to teacher ratio. School has moved to Brighton across from Brighton High School and is now very centrally located. I love that, thanks to the help of LCS, my oldest will graduate this year with a semester of college completed - free of charge! Parent: We have heard so many good things about this school, I was praying we would get in since so many people love it! I was able to get my daughter in the Prek 3 class and she has blossomed. It truly is the best preschool/education around. Now she is in K4 and we actually started my daughter in the toddler room this year! Parent: I am so grateful for this school. When my oldest son was finishing up kindergarten in another state, his teacher's one recommendation was to put him in a smaller school. Well, we found the right school in Ann Arbor Christian school. He made instant friends. He receives a lot of encouragement from teachers and peers. I am sometimes incredulous at the welcoming and positive environment, especially in places I don't expect it such as the middle school students being so genuinely friendly with our children. We were looking for a school that would give our children continuity between home and school and we found it. The Bible teaching we engage in at home is supported at school. Alum: I came to Go Like the Wind when I was in first grade from another Montessori school, and finished the program through eighth grade. My time spent there was very rewarding and gave me skill sets that I use now and will into my future. I was able to grow as an individual while making very close relationships with my classmates. Even though there was a lot of work, I was able to build necessary time management skills needed no matter where I go in life. In upper elementary and middle school I learned to work closely with a group, sometimes it would be a good group and other times, it would be difficult to get the project done. My mom informed me that dealing with those situations is no different than what she deals with at her work.
