Parent: Spring Vale is a rare gem! They use a classical education model utilizing the trivium of Grammar (memorizing facts, dates, people), Logic (analyzing facts, reasoning, argumentation, critical analysis), and Rhetoric (integrated knowledge, articulation, growing in wisdom). It's truly a great way to master what you're learning. We like the class sizes, life skills classes, the HOUSE system, and dress code. The campus is much bigger than it seems. They have goats, chickens, bees (they actually do beekeeping as a life skills class), and as pond stocked with fish as they teach fishing also. Just really awesome. Check it out for your kids. Alum: It prepared me way better than the public schools would have- when I transferred to a public school in 6th grade, I was a full year ahead of my classmates in what I had learned. The teachers always had the students in mind and the small class sizes help students to get help when they need it. One criticism I have is that my parents pushed for me to get accelerated classes and teachers weren't very helpful. I understand that they have a lot on their plates, but not much is done for students ready to go beyond the typical learning setting.... Read 1 review
