Alum: I loved my experience at Marian. Even though it was all-girls, which can be scary to some high schoolers, I really felt like I could be myself and dive into my education confidently. The social events like Field Day, Surprise Day, Walk-a-Thon, gave girls a chance to get together and have a lot of fun. As a former student-athlete for all four years of high school, I can say the athletics programs are especially competitive but always tight-knit. Senior: A great place to thrive. Small classes, a great family atmosphere. I have made great friends and there a ton of resources. I am an athlete and love the sports program. I love how much time the parents put into the school and how theys support their students. All grades support each other- it is very inclusive and a real family feel. I felt comfortable from the first day and know that I will really miss the tight knit community that this school offers. I feel I have gotten a great education while making friendships that will last a lifetime. The coaches and teachers are great. I feel that for academia the school still has a very conservative feel to it. The only thing that I would critique negatively would be the school counselors. I never really "needed" them but in terms of getting ready to apply for colleges etc they didn't guide us very well. The school counselors don't seem to spend a lot of time with their students. Parent: We were new to Omaha; toured numerous public and private schools. We chose Gross Catholic. Several years later, we're more convinced than ever it's been a great choice. Gross has wonderful faith-, leadership-, academic-, theater-, and sports-based groups in which to participate. It's welcoming! Strong academics. Love the trip experiences centering on important topics. As parents, we appreciate the House activities and family dinners (when there's not a pandemic!) and appreciate school leaders being unwaveringly Catholic. We've met numerous families who transferred into Gross from other faith-based and public schools for this leadership. Our athletic programs are competitive without sacrificing academic and spiritual integrity in the name of recruiting and becoming just another sports factory. Music and theater is 1st rate. Senior: I loved having the opportunity to go to Concordia. It is a family. The atmosphere is amazing, and the faculty and staff are truly wonderful people. They not only care about your education, and Christian faith, they care about your well-being and have your best interests at heart. I'd been in a tough position before going to Concordia, made some bad decisions, and felt lost, but Concordia helped me find myself and turn my life around. Parent: Archbishop Bergan Catholic School is a very special place. We have two children who have attended Bergan since preschool. Having our children enrolled in a school where our faith is first in everything they do has been such a blessing to our family. What makes Bergan special is the family atmosphere, small class sizes and personal education that our children receive. Works Here: This school has over 800 students, yet they function like a loving family. The staff works tirelessly to give every student every opportunity for success while showing that they truly care for them well past their contractual obligations. Middle School Student: It was a pretty decent school. You moved from classroom to classroom for every class which many schools don't do. There are different math classes for more advanced students and less advanced student which is helpful. All the teachers are nice and helpful. The school is clean and the church is beautiful. There are always actives to do at the school like the Ice Cream Social. The one thing they could change is making the school more diverse.
