Parent: Deerfield is the Columbia University of the Ivy League. Exeter/Andover is the Harvard/Yale. DA is compact, efficient, structured & fun. It has the hardest grading w severe grade deflation. There is only 1 GPA on a scale of 100. If you magically break 93, you are high honors. If you want the best odds of your child getting into an Ivy or Elite or Top LAC, Deerfield admit stats are up with the Top 5 feeders in the country. DA looks/feels like a country club, but the kids here work extremely hard unless you are shoo-in as recruited athlete or legacy. Regular Sit-down dinners force you to meet everyone in the school. Mandatory 1st or 2nd waiter duties teach humility. You get out of Deerfield, what you put into it because the resources are limitless. It's a tough place if your child needs coddling. But the best school if you want your kid to be an independent thinker and doer. The teachers and admin are unbelievably competent! It should be ranked 2nd/3rd but all these rankings are bunk... Parent: Our son went to Williston last year for a repeat junior year. Though his public-private high school in Vermont offered ample opportunities, the Covid experience had impacted his academic sequence and experience. He'd also come to realize Vermont's competition levels and potential for exposure didn't align with his aspirations for next-level play. Williston came well-recommended by a college friend whose son had been their for a few years, especially for its community. Even more than meeting our expectations for the sports, we were thrilled to see the community and academic experience energize him to new levels. He thrived with connections to students from around New England, the country, globe, and local community! We are thrilled with his academic interest and relationships. Parent: While sending my daughter to study abroad, I worried about her life and academics very much. However, the teachers and dorm parents in this school proved that my choice is correct! With the combined efforts, the school as a whole improved our daughters physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally. Parent: Both our sons have attended EBS, and it has been an outstanding experience. The staff care. The teachers are well trained. The academics are thoughtful and evolving. Our boys developed a great friendship in this nurturing atmosphere combining dorm life, sports, activities, and the classroom. The hillside setting is beautiful. The facilities are modern, well maintained, and the new science and arts building is a stunning example of form and function blended seamlessly into a wooded backdrop. Parent: This is one of the best treasures Northampton has to offer. The teachers are devoted, amazing, and really get to know the kids. One of the most exceptional things is that because it's such a cozy school, everyone truly knows everyone. Our two kids, who are in the younger grades, know the older kids and the teachers of the older grades. The school does a fantastic job planning all-school activities. One end-of-year favorite was when students in the older grades built an "arcade" out of recycled materials and the kids in the younger grades got to play all of the games. Parent: Highly recommend! Bement is the right school to international families that want to send their young children to a faraway country. Bement has innumerable merits. Competent teachers, freimily peers, organic foods, idyllic scenery, systematic curriculum, advanced math class open, immediate communication between parents and teachers, pick-up and drop-off at the airport by Bement teachers (How relieved!) etc. Bement fulfilled my two expectations academically and emotionally. My son would say, “All the teachers are like an encyclopedia.” I also remember how energetically school nurse, dorm parents, dorm administrator, and school doctor communicated with me and set out actively to cure my son when my son’s collarbone was broken. Even though I couldn't go to US in this Corona situation, all the teachers took him to three orthopedics and connected doctors with me by video call. Sophomore: At St. Stanislaus School, I received a phenomenal primary education which prepared me for my further education. Throughout the years I attended this school, I had an extremely close bond with my classmates and teachers. Parent: My son has social/behavioral issues. He struggled greatly in the larger public school setting where staff was not adequately trained to handle his issues. He has now been at Valley West for the past 2 years and i have to say its a game changer! My son loves school and is doing extremely well. The staff at VW is amazing. They truly go above and beyond. Senior: Lighthouse has Changed my entire perception on learning. For the first time in my life im excited to go to school and want to be there! The teachers are so supportive and find a schedule and or classes that work best for you! They’re so flexible to change and empathetic to kids who are having a rough time. I get to design my own courses and decide my own schedule completely. There are some things i miss from “regular” school, things like dances, sports games, etc. However id much rather enjoy my time at school than just the social events that come with it....
