Parent: My 7th grade twins are in their first year at Rowland Hall and we are beyond pleased with their experiences. The strength and rigor of the academics are met with full attention to the social and mental wellbeing of the students as well. The wide range of electives in tech, science and the arts has allowed them to explore so many new subjects. In addition, the attention given to women's sports has been awesome! Alum: Judge is a unique place. Most kids don't like it when they are there however it prepares you for college better than anywhere else. It is a close community and leaves you with unique memories and experiences. Although it seems like a chore at times, learning about religion, specifically world religions and social justice, is enlightening and is something you won't get from other schools. The administration often doesn't understand its students but they do understand running a top school. You can find some sort of activity that fits and interests you although socially being with such a small student body can be hard at times. At the end of the day, it is excellent for academics, you'll make a few lifelong friends, and the variety of clubs and activities it offers is unrivaled. Parent: Our daughter attended ICS for pre-K last year and is now in Kindergarten - I never leave reviews but I am so proud to be a part of this community for my children's education (we have 4 kids!). To give you an idea of what makes ICS special beyond great academics and small class sizes (for kindergarten): weekly Spanish classes, twice a month STEM lab, weekly library and music classes, chapel, ballet lessons after school, and field trips! Our teachers are great at communicating and welcome parent involvement - they are transparent, honest, and genuine. Lastly, Christian values are woven throughout our child's whole day, not just one class or weekly service. They are learning about God in math, during reading, and music, and all the time! Parent: I can not say enough about our experience with Realms! My son has been at Realms for 5 years and my daughter for 2 years and in that time they have grown so much as people. Realms has given them the opportunity to find their voices and challenge themselves beyond what they thought he could ever do. They have been able to create projects, travel to other countries, develop genuine friendships, learn what it means to be held accountable, and finally love learning and school! Parent: As we were considering moving across the country for jobs in Utah, an important priority for us was finding a school that would nurture and support our children, and would provide a community for us as a family. Our visit day at McGillis sealed the deal, and we have not looked back. When you enter the hallways of McGillis, you know it is different. There is a celebration of each child as a unique individual, and an investment in each child to be their very best selves. Just as importantly, there is a prioritization of the community (the kehilah), which teaches our children to think beyond themselves. As we have pivoted to COVID, the “value” of McGillis has never been clearer. Our children have benefited greatly from in-person education, and we felt incredibly confident with the safety measures and the transparent communication during this time. Parent: There is no other school like the Choir School. Academics and music are the foundation, but students are taught character. More importantly, they demonstrate it in the classroom, on the playground, by the respect they demonstrate towards their teachers and their personal caretaking of the building itself. The students encourage one another, and provided opportunities to practice accountability and responsibility as early as the elementary grades. Parent: We absolutely love Challenger School in Farmington! We started when our daughter was 3 and we noticed a huge difference in her intellectually. I like that they send home what they worked on that day so you can see what they've learned and continue the learning at home. But the best part is, she is excited to go to school! She absolutely loves it and so do we! We are a diverse family and they welcomed us with open arms. We feel like family there. They offer amazing hours for working parents for before and after care. Parent: Having our children attend the Elizabeth Academy was one of the greatest blessings that ever could have happened to our entire family. Freshman: I had attended St Francis for 9 years. I was always doing my best. The teachers and faculity never gave up on me when I was going down hill. In 7th grade I wasn't doing so good. I was getting in trouble a lot. By the end of 8th grade I was the TA for a leadership institute, leader of the choir, I was in NJHS, and I played volleyball and basketball. Parent: Love this school and the teachers and administration! Cannot say enough about the individualized attention each child receives. Staff really care about helping each kid grow and learn, whether that is academically or socially or behaviorally. Very inclusive atmosphere. Technology/Coding classes are a great opportunity. Advanced math program is excellent and provides a lot of opportunities. One of the best reading/intervention specialists around is at OLOL. Great atmosphere.
