Parent: Finishing our 2nd year with one each in the LS and US. CFA has exceeded our expectations. Beginning with an admissions process that is efficient and individualized, it seems every staff member is invested in knowing our kids and empowering them to “Go Further”, which happens to be the school’s motto and could not be more apt. Communications are clear and transparent. If I’ve ever had a question and don’t know who to ask, it doesn’t matter. Everyone and anyone is friendly and helpful, and if they don’t know the answer they direct me to whomever does. There is any number of extracurricular activities and clubs. Participation is encouraged and embraced for all measures of previous experience from novice to expert. Academics are outstanding. Our girls are learning beyond our wildest dreams. We looked at several similar schools across the nation and feel CFA is a veritable bargain for our investment. Hands down, it is the best decision we could have made for our children.... Parent: CCHS has a strong presence in the sports arena and in the arts. The focus is on students who participate in sports or the arts. Less focus is on students who focus more on academics and choose that path for their high school career. There are many clubs for students to select from. Lunch is catered each day by different vendors. There have been a lot of renovations and construction for different areas of the school over the past few years, and with that, lots of requests for donations. The History and English department is strong, and I feel my student is ready for college-level courses. The Science department lacks a STEM lab and strong teachers, especially in Chemistry and Physics. The school offers dual enrollment through the local community college for students looking to add rigor to their studies. It is a small school where everyone knows everyone's name. While the school promotes acceptance of all denominations, it does tend to ostracize students who are not Protestant.... Read 46 reviews

Middle School Student: I love our sports programs. I was able to play multiple sports and had good coaches that really cared about our teams. High School Senior: There are a lot of good things about this school, and it has a lot of potential that it's not reaching. I always wanted to participate in the Battle of the Books, but there wasn't a teacher to run that program. And a drama club would have been good. But unlike a lot of small schools, it did offer athletic teams, band and art programs, and Spanish language. My very favorite experience at St. Mary was participation on the Science Olympiad team for 3 years. I have now gone on to do Science Olympiad for 7 years, and am the president of my high school team for all four years. It is what made me decide that I want to go into the STEM professions. Parent: As a parent, with two children who are attending Wilmington Academy of Arts and Science, my wife and I are extremely pleased. The teachers and administration are exceptional. Small classroom sizes with dedicated passionate teachers foster an educational experience that is the best in the region. If you dream to have your child play professional sports, this may not the most appropriate school for your child, however if you want your child to excel in high school, college and grad school, look no further....
