Middle school student: Our son is a new 6th grader this year and we couldn't be more pleased with his experience. He was immediately welcomed by his peers, he jumped into the rigor of academics with the support of the teachers and staff, he has been mentored through his advisory period and S.E.T (study skills, executive training and technology) class, he is absolutely captivated by the language carousel and music program, and he is being coached with a level above excellence in both cross country and strength & conditioning. Junior: Headwaters is a great school with excellent faculty. So many of them have PhDs and graduate degrees and practically all are kind and accessible. The teachers want us to succeed. The IB curriculum is another big highlight. I love the size of the school, but it's not for everyone, despite the size though, there are a lot of clubs and extracurriculars. Parent: Have sent two children through Regents K-12 and can't say enough good things. Excellent, inspiring teachers who mentored and cared about my kids. Both have been well prepared for college, my oldest is now pre-med at a well ranked University. Parents are very involved, volunteerism is high. Fine arts is excellent, athletics also excellent-- and kids can actually do both! So many opportunities for kids here. If you are a parent who wants to drop your kids off at school and forget about them, and stay unengaged from your kids and let other people raise them, this is not the school for you. Junior: Hill Country Christian School is an amazing school. When I first came to the school as a new student, I thought I wasn't going to make any friends. The first day that I walked through those classroom door people came straight to me and started telling me their names. I made some friends the very first day. The best part about being at the school is that I can see that everyone at the school loves the Lord. Whether it's through the worship team or just in everyday classes.I think the worst part about being at the school is that some classes are outside in portables. Starting from middle school you could potentially be going back and forth from the main building to the portables depending on your class schedule. It can be tiring especially since most other classes are on the third and fourth floors and the stairs to get to those classes are very steep.A reduction in price of tuition would be nice. Junior: This is the best school I have ever attended! All of the teachers are amazing, there are some you can identify with more than others. The student culture is great, and we are doing our best to keep Christ at the center of our Christian school. The extracurricular teachers are absolutely amazing... choir, dance/cheer, and worship team have especially engaging, caring, and Christian instructors. The opportunities offered are great! We grow really close throughout grade levels. The academics are good. The school offers many advanced classes (such as ACC Dual Credit, AP, and Honors). Senior: Savio is a fantastic school that has prepared me for the obstacles and challenges I face in life. I have taken rigorous courses which have prepared me for the college-level standard of academics. The wide variety of resources that I have been offered at Savio has made my high school experience easy to navigate and helpful in challenging times. One of my worst experiences was learning online during Covid-19. I did not have many friends and I found it challenging to learn by myself at home. My best experience at Savio has been the retreat trips. Every year, our class goes on a retreat to help us grow spiritually and mentally with our classmates. it has been nice to leave school for a couple of days to reflect back on my life in high school. Additionally, I have grown closer to my peers through these retreats because of the various bonding activities and conversations that take place. It is a multi-denominational faith based family environment, very supportive of our kids and their academics and activities. Being able to be involved in multiple things has allowed our kids to try new things they had not done before, from drama/stage management, to cross country, track, volleyball and softball. Our oldest daughter had never ran cross country, got involved and ended up getting a partial scholarship to a D1 school! Our middle daughter loves the school, and just scored very well on her SAT! Sophomore: I am a sophomore at San Juan Diego Catholic High School. I enjoy going to this high school. If you had told me 5 years ago that I would be attending catholic high school I would have probably not believed you. I have always grown up going to a public school but my family and I were still involved with Church. When my mom heard about the opportunity of me going to a Catholic High School she signed me up right away. I am grateful for having the opportunity of attending to San Juan Diego. I love the community there, the teachers, CIP, and overall just the beautiful friendships I have made over the years of attending. I appreciate the teachers for helping us, the students, really understand the material they are teaching. They are always understanding when we need help. I also enjoy my CIP job. Junior: Summit Christian Academy has a lot of stuff about it that I love. First and foremost, it provides a Christian education. I came into this private school starting my Freshman year, and our high school Bible teacher is fantastic! He loves the Word of God and his teaching has helped me significantly through my spiritual journey. I also love the rest of the teachers. With Summit being a small school, there is a lot of opportunity to get to know my teachers personally. I talk to them every school day– sometimes about academics; other times about life. They are so kind, passionate, and loving. Like I said, Summit is a really small school. My Junior class consists of less than thirty people! The community is so great because you get to know everybody really well. That being said, it isn't perfect. With the small community comes a lot of drama, and students fight amongst themselves quite a bit. With all of this being said, I look forward to the last two years of my high school education.... It ran as well as it did because of the small size, but that was also it's main downfall. When you go to a smaller school, the competitive pool is, consequently, smaller. Parent: We moved to Texas beginning of the new year and it was too late to enroll my 3 year old at at time into any of the better schools. He had a terrible experience at the preschool we enrolled him into so I started my search for the perfect school for him. We toured and I immediately filled out the application. Since starting in august my child’s pre-k experience has been nothing short of amazing! He absolutely LOVES his teachers and the staff at school. He actually cried the first month of school on Fridays because there was no school on Saturday. I feel so strongly about this school that we are enrolling little sister next year and I’ve convinced my husband we will be paying for private school here for as long as they can attend. The academics has surpassed my expectations and my child not only comes home retaining what he learned but eager to learn more.
