Junior: I have attended Regents since kindergarten and I am so thankful. In the 12 years I have attended this school I have been blessed with the best teachers, an excellent community and great experiences I will always remember. Parent: Absolutely LOVE this school. My husband and I have toured over a dozen schools over the years and between our five children have attended 6 different schools. We have three children in the elementary school and from the top of admin to volunteers it’s everything I had hoped for. My kiddos are thriving and love going to school. Recently they had to implement remote learning and it was as if they had it all planned out ahead of time. Every child has their own chrome book and the lessons (from what my friends in all other Austin schools tell me) are far superior to what others are receiving. Parent: What an amazing school! There is an intentiality in Waldorf curriculum that you will not find in other education models. It is a holistic approach with rigorous academics combined with art, music and movement. Specifically, at AWS the faculty is experienced and dedicated and the 30+ acre campus is gorgeous. All students get to experience theater, campouts, class trips, feild trips and many festivals throughout the year. Parent: In this challenging time of quarantine, many schools have temporarily shuttered, leaving their students unsure and unchallenged. Not ATI. The Academy of Thought and Industry has done an amazing job of transitioning to online instruction. As an innovative and progressive school, they’ve never been hampered by traditional education structure; this is really paying off now, when structure is out the window. My son has not missed any instruction time; ATI had an immediate plan in place to address distance learning as soon as the students finished spring break. Not surprising, given that the school already has strong integration with its other campuses around the country. My son misses seeing his friends every day, but he is genuinely enjoying his online instruction. Parent: The teachers and admin really know and care about the students. They are responsive to parents and always have the student's well being and growth in mind. My favorite thing about Magellan (besides the incredible teachers) is the opportunity to see my children present what they've learned at the end of unit presentations - in English and Spanish! During the presentations they share their research, practice presentation skills, demonstrate teamwork, and reflect on lessons learned. I see multiple subjects (science, art, technology, design, math, and language acquisition) integrated during the presentations. These skills will serve them well in high school, college, and in the real world. And my kids LOVE going to school everyday. Strong work ethics are rewarded more than studying for a single test grade. The kids a friendly and warm creating an environment where the introverts and shy can flourish.
