Parent: I want to add my support as the parent of two recent Bancroft graduates. As much as it was clear while my kids were still there that Bancroft was a great school (both in terms of academic strength and in terms of inspiring, caring teachers), I didn't really understand how great it was until they started college. Both of them went on to highly selective colleges (one of them with a $100K merit scholarship), and when they got to college, they just excelled. Something about the Bancroft approach to inquiry and curiosity, writing, public speaking, and self-advocacy was the perfect alchemy for college success. They were both much better prepared than their college classmates, and both ended up being a go-to resource for college friends who weren't as strong at thinking independently, writing, and participating in a college community. Alum: I graduated in 2021, and I am able to confidently convey that Saint Johns was both the best choice of High School for me, but also the single most important 4 years of my youth for my academic and moral development as a young man. Sophomore: I'm currently attending and honestly, it's a great school. Not entirely diverse, but there is a lot of diversity. The education is good, helps students who need help and accommodates students that are ahead of their grade level. There are plenty of clubs, multiple instrumental, choral, sports, creative, etc. Guidance and nurse are both amazing, they are willing to work with each student to help them get through the day well. The new staff this year are absolutely amazing- a huge step-up from last year. They genuinely care. The freedom that students get: eating outside for lunch, free periods, no uniform, is a perfect level, not too much, but enough to be comfortable. Also, the way they've handled COVID-19 is incredible. Webcams, headsets, in classrooms, optional online learning, masks, 6 feet apart signs, hand sanitizer, etc, they've done everything we could ask for. Parent: Our family wishes to pay the highest of compliments to Hillside School for the management of its Spring ’20 Trimester! When academic classes at Hillside resumed online on Monday, March 30, Hillside’s faculty performed with excellence, as if the school had been operating with remote learning for quite some time. Our family was incredibly impressed with the overall effectiveness of Hillside’s remote learning program. And the continuity of curriculum throughout the Spring ’20 trimester exceeded our expectations! Hillside School set a date & time to launch remote learning of Monday, March 30, 2020 at 8:15 am to noon. That morning, his screen lit up with images and familiar faces at precisely 8:15 am. Then, from Monday, March 30 through the last week of May, the consistency of his school day was just what we hoped for. Academic lessons began right at 8:15 am and continued up until noon. Niche User: I worked at Holden Christian Academy for years and noticed how happy the children are there. They enjoy their teachers, the regular worship offered on Mondays, the sense of unity and love among the staff and the general environment. Parent: I have a very bright student that needed organizational skills. I could not have found a better school for my son. It took a few years and a few dedicated teachers, but my son now totally owns his own work. There are fewer and fewer lost papers and rarely a missed assignment. The middle school math and social studies teachers really truly try to push and get the best out of their students. These teachers are outstanding. There are a few teachers that just slide by and do the minimal amount of work. The only thing lacking is sports. The school has basketball and track and it puts everything it has into the basketball program. The PE teacher is great. Parents get too involved when their child doesn’t “make the right team”. Parent: Alhuda Academy is a good school amongst private schools. I had my daughter attending a different private school but the overall environment of Alhuda school and teachers is much more inclusive.
