Her 6th grade experience continued her positive academic trajectory, in tandem with developing communication and social-emotional skills. Freshman: CA is an incredible school with incredible people. Their balance of different curriculums through different teachers while still feeling unified is amazing, plus the freedoms that are granted through the different options you have to choose from are great. Sophomore: DJDSis the most amazing school, home, family, and community. Going to this school has allowed me to flourish in ways that could never be replicated anywhere else. Secularly, the teachers are so invested in my learning and will always find a time to meet with me to go over stuff and genuinely want me to succeed. In regards to the Judaic program, It has allowed me to discover God and spirituality, without ever telling me what I should believe. The classesmerely push you to challenge your own beliefs and think deeply about the subject so every student can benifit.Most importantly, DJDS has given me my second family I can walk down the hallway everyday and be surrounded by people I can count on. DJDS transformed me from a timid 6th grader who was nervous to ask a teacher to fix my grade. Senior: I really enjoyed my time at Mullen! Overall, I think mullen is a great school. There is a loving community of peers and teachers. Mullen also is extremely helpful with the college process and made it much less stressful. I think schools can always improve and one of the only things I wish Mullen did different was offer more elective classes like fashion design or American Sign Language. Mullen is coming out with more elective options for next school year however I just never got to experience that. Parent: I knew nothing about Waldorf education, and it was as far out of my comfort zone as possible, but I can honestly say Waldorf has been the best decision our family has made.  The focus on letting a child be a child, learn how to interact, build relationships, keep all the terrible things going on in our world out of their minds and develop a love for learning is incredible.  The community of staff, families and children come from diverse backgrounds, and all get along, which speaks volumes for the culture and purpose of Waldorf. Parent: Last year, my son in kindergarten, and daughter in first grade, were both falling behind in public school. Growing up, my husband and I both attended a Christian School and knew Belleview could positively impact our kids, both academically and spiritually. We found Belleview and enrolled the kids immediately. By April of that same school year, the results of the Stanford Achievement Test indicated that my daughter had reached a near 7th grade reading comprehension level. This year, she is earning an A+ in Spelling and Phonics and my son has excelled in Math and Science. Both of them continue to thrive at Belleview and are growing in their relationship with the Lord! Junior: Flatirons Academy (previously Cornerstone Christian Academy when I arrived there) had its pros and cons. It was what I needed in order to grow academically, emotionally, and mentally. It introduced me to so many amazing teachers and staff who weren’t afraid to go above and beyond to care for their students. I got the chance to grow, learn, and make new experiences. Overall, the school served its purpose for me. I had my hard moments, I had some boring ones, and I had some amazing times from a community that wanted to bring the best to the table. I also had some less than exemplary teachers, but they did their best and I’m thankful for the experience it taught me. Also, that’s a part of all schools, so it’s not too surprising. Parent: From the community and teachers to the education and enrichment opportunities, Graland is an amazing place on every level. The focus on cultivating the whole child is evident from day 1 and we love how character and leadership are instilled in the students at a very young age and woven through out the curriculum all the way through from Pre-K to 8th grade. What I love most about the school is how the curriculum is coordinated across all the various subjects. Parent: We love this school so much, it’s our second home! A home to our family is place where you always feel safe and loved and this really embodies what Evergreen Country Day means to our child. Not only are the academics strong, but starting in Pre-School (now in First Grade) our son was learning to self advocate, public speaking and gaining so much self confidence and self awareness. Parent: My family has been at Christ The King for 6+ years with two children, and I give the school 5 stars! Having a degree in mathematics, I cannot say enough about the curriculum around math and science. What I am most impressed with is how the kids are exposed to public speaking at such a young age by participating in biography day, mass, class plays- to name a couple opportunities. Almost all the kids go out for sports starting in 3rd grade - No kid is ever cut in any of the sports. This allows the children to grow in athletics and learn how to interact with their peers outside the classroom. My wife is not Catholic and there are other families who attend CTK that are not Catholic. Truly it allows the kids to learn about values, being reflective, and how to be kind and compassionate towards one another.
