Senior: Overall, I've had a lot of fun here at GFS. I really felt the school's Quaker values shine through throughout my experience here, whether it was through calling teachers by their first names, or beginning certain classes with moments of silence, or attending weekly Meeting for Worship. It felt like the teachers were genuinely invested in seeing their students succeed, and were always very accessible. For the most part, the students were just as great, both inside and outside of class. It is a touch cliquey, but overall, there was a great sense of community, and I loved my time at GFS.... Junior: My Junior year at the Prep was great. This was my first full year in school due to Covid and the comeback was smooth. The school didn't lose a step since my first year back in 19-20. The teachers and other faculty remained great and positive with and without masks. They were never judgemental about the situations regarding covid. My junior year turned out better than anticipated. We came in the year with more extracurricular activities which were great. I was able to attend multiple activities this year during and after school. One is the Environmental Club. The Environmental Club was run by a chemistry teacher that I had which turned out fun. I also attended his other clubs like his Jewish culture and Social Discussion clubs which were student-led with teacher input. The campus is huge and nice compared to most schools in the area. Our daughter entered as a freshman, having completed her middle school years at a local Co-Ed school, and she paved her own path almost instantly, straight through to senior year. MMA provided a wonderfully inclusive, supportive environment whereby students were encouraged to engage with faculty and staff—and the students did so willingly. Whether academically, athletically or spiritually, the girls at MMA are taught to always give more of themselves for the benefit of others. Junior: I was first lukewarm about coming to Bishop Eustace Preparatory School, or as everyone around here calls it, Eustace. I entered as part of that class that was half virtual, half not. It was a surreal experience to try to make friends from six feet away without facial cues. However, as time went on I began to love Bishop Eustace more and more. Everyone here is kind. The faculty truly care about the students and what is best for them. The students actually do embrace the Pallotti teachings. It's not a big school, but personally, I love the fact that it is small. All the clubs and teams here need people and are happy to have anyone willing to help. As a result, you can try a million things and find out what you really want to pursue. Senior: I love all aspects about Roman Catholic High School, this school is a extremely diverse school it is also very welcoming. This school has expanded over the years and will continue to expand drastically over the next few years. Freshman: Hello to all! My name is Sheldon Daniels. I am an upcoming junior at West Catholic Prep in Philadelphia, PA. This would be my second school year attending West CATHOLIC. I was a freshman last year. I would say the best part about my school, are they are community based. They offer a lot of very resources and information for community events. They also have extra curriculum activities such as football (which I play myself), drama,and basketball, just to name a few. The staff are hands on with the students. I also have the opportunity to take AP courses, which I do, in Engineering. I am looking to achieving a career in STEM. The worst part about my school, and what I would change, is you have to be there super EARLY! Classes at West Catholic start at 7:40am! That's to early! Senior: I have attended Girard College for all 12 years of my academic career. Overall, I give the experience a four out of five. In the beginning, everything seemed to be going all right but looking back I'm not sure if it was because I was a kid with no worries or expectations. When I entered the high school everything seemed to change. We went from textbooks to an online curriculum and from hundreds of people to as little as 30 people in a grade. There were a lot of adjustments I had to make but in the end, Girard set me up with an above-grade education. I always had all the resources I needed while being in a safe environment behind the walls. Of course, there were minor problems along the way which is why there is one less star but those problems didn't make my whole experience.
