Junior: I have attended Regents since kindergarten and I am so thankful. Parent: Absolutely LOVE this school. My husband and I have toured over a dozen schools over the years and between our five children have attended 6 different schools. We have three children in the elementary school and from the top of admin to volunteers it’s everything I had hoped for. My kiddos are thriving and love going to school. Recently they had to implement remote learning and it was as if they had it all planned out ahead of time. Every child has their own chrome book and the lessons (from what my friends in all other Austin schools tell me) are far superior to what others are receiving. Parent: In this challenging time of quarantine, many schools have temporarily shuttered, leaving their students unsure and unchallenged. Not ATI. The Academy of Thought and Industry has done an amazing job of transitioning to online instruction. As an innovative and progressive school, they’ve never been hampered by traditional education structure; this is really paying off now, when structure is out the window. My son has not missed any instruction time; ATI had an immediate plan in place to address distance learning as soon as the students finished spring break. Not surprising, given that the school already has strong integration with its other campuses around the country. My son misses seeing his friends every day, but he is genuinely enjoying his online instruction. Parent: The teachers and admin really know and care about the students. They are responsive to parents and always have the student's well being and growth in mind. My favorite thing about Magellan (besides the incredible teachers) is the opportunity to see my children present what they've learned at the end of unit presentations - in English and Spanish! During the presentations they share their research, practice presentation skills, demonstrate teamwork, and reflect on lessons learned. I see multiple subjects (science, art, technology, design, math, and language acquisition) integrated during the presentations. As a parent who grew up in a small town going to a very small school, I was looking for that same type of experience for my child. There is a very close community feeling in the school and the students are not only encouraged, but mentored on giving and volunteering in the community. Parent: We came to Redeemer a few months in to our youngest son's 1st grade. He had completed PK & K at our older son's school (another Christian school in the area which has been exactly right for our older son) BUT we were suddenly called in and told our little one was not going to be successful so we must find him another school. Having been involved with Redeemer during college, I knew the quality of education. After our son's "shadow" day, we knew this was the right place. After his first full day, we began to see our little guy re-emerging; we hadn't realized how much he'd withdrawn from the stress of situation in the other school. With the same curriculum & Christ-centered approach as the other school, but a different teaching methodology (interactive research based vs. classical), the emphasis on play in healthy childhood development, and the extensive elective options, he has flourished.
