Parent: PD is far more than a top notch TK-12 college prep school! It is truly a community of dedicated, attentive & engaged teachers, administrators, staff, parents & families. PD is our second home. The curriculum is rigorous, the extracurriculars are wide ranging, and mental health & student support services are exemplary. More importantly, the student service opportunities are limitless and students actively participate by choice. We chose PD due to their welcoming of diverse families, and my daughters have close friends from a wide range of backgrounds, religions, and ethnicities. My oldest daughter recently matriculated from PD to a highly selective college and hasn't missed a beat. Country Day also offers extra-curricular activities that provide students with the opportunity to perform at the highest levels of athletic, artistic, and academic competition. Having completed my freshman year of college, I can easily say that I was better prepared than many of my fellow first year students. Country Day is truly a college preparatory school in every sense—alums will be equipped with the skills they need to thrive in college, provided they are willing to work hard. Senior: Without a doubt, the largest benefit I reaped from Latin was their Speech & Debate program. Not only did I find a supportive community, but also got the resources necessary to succeed in the event. The small class sizes were crucial because I got to know my teachers on a personal level and could always receive one-on-one help. The courses focus on interdisciplinary connections and always brings the curriculum back to events occurring in the real world, which was crucial to making the learning seem meaningful. Parent: Our daughter just finished her preschool year at Gaston Day School. To say the least, we couldn't be happier. This was her first year at Gaston Day and as much great feedback we had learned about this school, we were hesitant moving her from a school that she has known since she was 18months old. She came home from her first day at Gaston Day and our fears were immediately gone. She was so happy and excited to go back the next day. She said she had so much fun! This is a testament to the administration and teachers at Gaston Day. They create an atmosphere that feels open, safe, and loving. A perfect environment for learning. Parent: My son transferred in 8th grade (he is now a Sophomore) after growing frustrated with the over-crowding and disruptive behavior in the public schools. He craved a more intimate environment and was immediately welcomed by his new classmates. We found his new friends to be exceptionally well mannered and respectful. We have found the teachers to be very committed to their faith and education. There is a strong Christian foundation and the school does a good job not only providing a good academic curriculum but also a good focus on developing good character. Junior: It is a good school with for the most part a loving group of staff and students. The biggest problem the school faces is the admin. The admin are petty and corrupt and won't hesitate to make something fit their specific standards. The school struggles in keeping teachers, which can make it hard to form meaningful connections. Although the diversity is lacking, it is fairly easy to find a group of people to be friends with despite the small class size. The student body is filled of promising individuals and passionate people. There is always something interesting happening and for the most part, coming to school is enjoyable. Despite the competitive classes, most teachers try their best to teach material to their best ability and most have a true passion for their subject and for teaching which really shows. Parent: We have two at St. Anne Catholic School. We have a boy & girl, one in K3 & one in K4. We absolutely love the school. Our kids are excited to wake up and go to school too! They feel loved and give us a full recap of what happened every day! They are learning so much and having a faith based education makes a huge difference! I hurt my finger the other day, and my 4 year old daughter said, “let me pray for you mommy.” The class size is small. Teachers have amazing communication! They respond sometimes within minutes via email. You will also get pictures from their activities! Both of my kids classes are extremely diverse! All different nationalities. I almost feel like they attend an international school.
