Sophomore: We’re a very inclusive school! We even have a Diversity and Inclusivity Council, which I’m on, where we challenge the student body to talk about some deep topics as well as be open to new ideas and opinions. We don’t have as many students as public schools do so the most students a teacher may have in a class is probably 16 versus public school where it’s 20-25 kids. The teachers at Holland Hall are very good at making sure you understand every aspect of the subject as well as making time for you if you need some one on one help. Junior: Yes, we are "that school with a zoo," though more accurately, it is a barnyard. I've gone to Riverfield since I was 2 years old, so understandably it has become my second home. The teachers here genuinely care about every student, and the low teacher to student ratio makes it so that you form great relationships with your teachers. The community makes you feel safe and free to be yourself. Students are able to be apart of whatever extracurricular they'd like, whether that be debate, drama, tennis, basketball, rock band, student government, etc., and however many they'd like as every team and club is welcoming to beginners. Senior: Bishop Kelley is a truly special place. I Transferred to Bishop Kelley to start Sophomore year. So, yes, I was at one point the "new girl." But I never felt like the new girl. Because of the amazing environment that BK is, I felt like I was just where I was supposed to be. Since being at Bishop Kelley the past three years, I've made my best friends, developed great relationships with teachers, administrators, and coaches. I wouldn't have wanted any other high school experience other than the one I got as being a Kelley Comet. Since going to school there, I've become well acquainted with Fr. Duy, our chaplain and priest. Father Duy guides students weekly to help the community sand give back. Our campus Ministry hosts various retreats every school year for students to attend in order to grow themselves personally, but also spiritually. Bishop Kelley is truly Home. Senior: Augustine Christian Academy is a school dedicated to teaching students how to learn and not just what to learn through a classical education style. It’s a smaller Christian school which allows the students to really bond with each other and build relationships and friendships that last a lifetime. Something about ACA that makes it unique is our House system. It is inspired by European boarding schools and all students from grades 9 through 12 are divided into four Houses based off of their character traits. These Houses participate in competitions in order to win and be the House of Honor for that Quarter. Houses foster leadership in students and it creates a family-like community filled with students encouraging each other academically, spiritually, and emotionally. Senior: I have gone to Metro Christian Academy since kindergarten, and there is truly nothing like it! The teachers and administration are fantastic and have the students' best interests at heart. When all grades, from P-3 to 12th, are in the same building, a strong sense of community is built, and otherwise unlikely connections/friendships flourish. Not only are the academics unmatched, the athletics and extracurricular opportunities are also beyond compare of other private schools in the area. Senior: The "Christian" in the name Victory Christian School is greatly emphasized. Teachers pray before class and check up on students. It's a very open and vulnerable atmosphere. We have chapels once a week. There's a worship team and there've been clubs specifically centered around worship, prayer, and discipleship. The academics at Victory are also exceptional. There are a broad range of classes available for all interests and all levels (that includes honors, AP, and concurrent course options) which allows students to have a more personalized schedule. Victory is also really involved with sports and other extracurricular activities. There's a wide range of sports for athletes, musicians can be in band or on the worship team, artists can choose specific art classes such as those focused on pottery or painting, and there's many clubs ranging from Law to Speech/Drama/Debate to Literature. Parent: We have had children at Wright Christian Academy since 2006 that all started in PreK3 and are now aged 11-16. In all these years I have watched the teachers love on my kids and be there for them in tough times and truly invest in their lives. When I send my kids to school, it’s more like I’m sending them to their “second home”. Senior: I have attended Lincoln Christian school since first grade. My entire experience was fantastic ,and the environment presented to me in all grades was superior. Lincoln offers many opportunities for students to show who they are and thrive in their gifts. The teachers at Lincoln Christian also lean in to the students and care about the student's well being. As a Christian School, they also aim to develop leaders in Christ. Another benefit is that the majority of students that come out of Lincoln are highly sought after. One thing I would change about lincoln is their hard fixation on certain aspects of schooling. Many students at my school see that admisnistartion favors some sports over other even though the favored sports perform worse than those that aren't the favorites. I would like to see equal efforts to celebrate all sports and activities. Overall, I still believe this school has shaped me to who I am. Freshman: I literally could not say enough good things about this university. It's so easy to get connected here, and every staff member cares deeply about your success. That said, I think part of the reason I love it so much is because I'm a total nerd (an English major who gets excited about everything related to books, philosophy, film, and art). Everyone I know here is passionate about something, and everyone is pretty nerdy (in a good way of course). So if that isn't the vibe you're looking for I would definitely not recommend Tulsa.
