Campus safety can be measured by the hundreds of backpacks laying on the ground outside with no incidents of robbery or otherwise. The teachers are super understanding and always find unique ways to engage their classes. The curriculum teaches students to be deep thinkers and to ask questions, not just memorize dates in a textbook. Overall, SA students are met with a chill/relaxed environment in the context of an academically rigorous school. Works Here: A great private school that values their students success. Great athletic program and extra curricular programs like Auto shop, Wood working, Glass design and drama. The best part about the school is their property. They have over 300 acres, on 4 miles of the Russian River. The students use the land for play recreation and study. Senior: Overall, St. Vincent is a great school and is the oldest Catholic High School in the North Bay. The teachers are extraordinary and will go out of their way to help you; a new administration team has provided renewed vitality to critical elements of the school while maintaining the school's roots. Our athletic teams have been strengthened across the board, especially in football, baseball, soccer, volleyball, and nearly every other sports team. It is evident that the school is growing and adapting to the challenges of thriving in a competitive landscape, as evident in increased enrollment and an improving atmosphere. Academics are rigorous and strong in most areas, although there could be improvements to the math department. Junior: The school has improved greatly from the last time I was here, it’s more organized and there’s a better student body. There were problematic students that were negatively impacting the school environment and administration made sure to do something about it to make it a safe space for the rest of the school. All the students get along very well now and the mentors are always there to help with whatever they can. The school makes the students feel heard and gives them a voice. Senior: I transferred to Cardinal Newman High School for my Junior year in midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite beginning at my new school on zoom, the transition was seamless. Both the teachers and my peers welcomes me and help me from the very start. I quickly thrived under the higher standard of education which Cardinal Newman and the teachers offered. Despite the more challenging coursework, I was learning more than before and achieving higher grades. I also joined the soccer team where under Coach Corriveau, who was also my religion teacher, I grew both as an athlete and as a person. With his help, committed to play soccer at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in the fall. Parent: We chose VCA for our son not only for the smaller class sizes, but also so that he could be surrounded by people of faith. We love how the Bible is woven into their assignments and different subjects. We've seen his faith start to grow, and we've appreciated how sensitively they've dealt with questions and students who are still figuring out what they believe. He made some great friends his first year and even more in his 2nd, and the staff and teachers are so warm and welcoming. In fact my son said about his 4th grade teacher, "She's the best teacher I've ever had. And definitely the nicest." Now that’s a ringing endorsement! Middle School Student: I went to THS for the 1st and 2nd grade, and then again from 5th grade all the way through the end of the school in 8th grade. The school manages to make the most out of its small space, creating magic for its students even in portable buildings. The new STEM center, engineering lab, and library are beautiful, and I never had a bad experience with a teacher. The small nature of the school brings each grade very close together over the time they spend there. I learned an incredible amount and my experience is that it was taught better than my classes at Hong Kong International School, where I attended in 3rd and 4th grade, and it prepared me well for my rigorous honors courses at Singapore American School, where I now attend. All courses were taught very in depth with a significant emphasis placed on each student's personal growth in thinking and understanding the concept. I couldn't recommend this school more!... Parent: Spring Hill is an absolutely wonderful school. Our daughter started in the preschool program at age 3. She will be starting 3rd grade in the Fall, and we definitely plan on her continuing for many years to come. The leadership, teachers, and community at Spring Hill are all absolutely wonderful! The head of the school, Shaharazad, is an incredible leader and her authentic passion and care for the students are evident in all of our interactions with her. All of the teachers provide their students a high level of individualized care and support and exhibit incredible passion and teaching skills in their classrooms.
