Senior: Menard has been great for me - however, the adminstration is determined to ignore problems that actually exist in favor of fixing what isn't broken. A couple teachers go above and beyond, and the school can't fund either its classes or its clubs. However, everyone is connected. Niche User: I am happy to return to school. Distance learning was hard, working with computer caused pain for eyes and fingers. I could understand the online lessons, but it was easier when we had face-to-face meetings with the teacher. One more thing I am happy about is to see my friends, meet new teachers. If the lessons were distance again, we won't have a chance to get introduced with teachers. We have new teachers this year." Breaks are shortened and we have to wash our hands many times. Also, you are not allowed to lend something to others. I am carrying water in the bottle as the water dispensers are turned off. Still, it’s good to go to school. We are repeating the materials from the previous year and I understand everything better in class than on the online lesson. We have a new game called “Coronobana” – it’s like a game of catch."... Senior: Many of the teachers at Grace Christian School are highly experienced with a love for their students and a passion for teaching. I really enjoy the small classroom environment because it allows the students to interact with the teacher and each other. We may not have football, but we have a wide variety of other sports. Our lunch is catered by a variety of restaurants near the school. I like this because it allows me to choose the meals that I like from high-quality restaurants. Something I would like to change is the number of dual enrollment courses. I think that it would be beneficial for Juniors and Seniors to have more dual enrollment classes offered. Senior: As a current member of the senior class, SCC has greatly prepared me for college and for my future career. I am quite involved in the school as the Student Council president, BETA Club vice president, National Honor Society secretary, Stagehands treasurer, Academic Games team captain, as well as a member of the 30+ Club, Mu Alpha Theta, Ambassadors, and Retreat Team. Along with this I am taking the hardest schedule at SCC, and I am visibly and vastly succeeding. My favorite part of this school is the size because every single teacher offers extra tutoring in order for equal opportunities for all to succeed. Niche User: I went to this school for most of my life. You won't find better teachers anywhere else. The teachers are truly concerned about the well-being of each child. They try their best to make sure that each child learns the material at their own pace. We are taught many good, godly based morals, that will apply to life, and that help us grow as Christians. Alum: I was at Ideaventions from 7th grade through 12th grade, and it was a phenomenal experience. The teachers give high quality, engaging lessons. Roughly half of the classes are project based, even the English classes, something that I think is great when it comes to learning how to work effectively. The engineering classes are all hands on, where the classwork revolves around designing and building systems. The math curriculum is deep and efficient, the teachers present the information in an efficient manner that gets at the core axioms of a concept which us students then extrapolated and implemented in order to solve problems, a method I find to be far superior to the traditional approach of memorizing steps to solve problems. The clubs! These were the best part of the school, and there are all kinds of fun clubs. A few of my favorites were the Naturalist club, Inventor's club, Math Honors Society, Dungeons and Dragons club, and the Sysadmin club. I 100% recommend this school.... Read 12 reviews
