Middle school student: Our son is a new 6th grader this year and we couldn't be more pleased with his experience. He was immediately welcomed by his peers, he jumped into the rigor of academics with the support of the teachers and staff, he has been mentored through his advisory period and S.E.T (study skills, executive training and technology) class, he is absolutely captivated by the language carousel and music program, and he is being coached with a level above excellence in both cross country and strength & conditioning. The balance of academic, the arts, athletics and service has felt like an incredible parallel to the things our family values. We couldn't be more thrilled with our decision to send him to St. Andrew's. Junior: Headwaters is a great school with excellent faculty. So many of them have PhDs and graduate degrees and practically all are kind and accessible. The teachers want us to succeed. The IB curriculum is another big highlight. I love the size of the school, but it's not for everyone, despite the size though, there are a lot of clubs and extracurriculars. Parent: Our child has attended Brentwood Christian for 10 years now (since pre-K), and we have been more than satisfied with the level of care and quality education she has received. The faculty and staff care about the students and challenge them to reach their full potential. The school culture is amazing and centered around kindness, compassion, acceptance, and strong Christian values. Over the time our child has attended Brentwood Christian, they've expanded their sports programs and facilities which has been great at providing a diverse set of opportunities to participate. Junior: I have attended Regents since kindergarten and I am so thankful. In the 12 years I have attended this school I have been blessed with the best teachers, an excellent community and great experiences I will always remember. It is evident that the teachers really care about their students and pray for them. The trips are some of my fondest memories and I am so glad I got to experience them. Junior: Hill Country Christian School is an amazing school. When I first came to the school as a new student, I thought I wasn't going to make any friends. The first day that I walked through those classroom door people came straight to me and started telling me their names. I made some friends the very first day. The best part about being at the school is that I can see that everyone at the school loves the Lord. Whether it's through the worship team or just in everyday classes.I think the worst part about being at the school is that some classes are outside in portables. Starting from middle school you could potentially be going back and forth from the main building to the portables depending on your class schedule. It can be tiring especially since most other classes are on the third and fourth floors and the stairs to get to those classes are very steep.A reduction in price of tuition would be nice. Parent: What an amazing school! There is an intentiality in Waldorf curriculum that you will not find in other education models. It is a holistic approach with rigorous academics combined with art, music and movement. Specifically, at AWS the faculty is experienced and dedicated and the 30+ acre campus is gorgeous. All students get to experience theater, campouts, class trips, feild trips and many festivals throughout the year. Starting in 6th grade, there is a formal athletics program that any student is able to participate in. The parent community is golden and essential to the school. Junior: This is the best school I have ever attended! All of the teachers are amazing, there are some you can identify with more than others. The student culture is great, and we are doing our best to keep Christ at the center of our Christian school. The extracurricular teachers are absolutely amazing... choir, dance/cheer, and worship team have especially engaging, caring, and Christian instructors. The opportunities offered are great! We grow really close throughout grade levels. The academics are good. The school offers many advanced classes (such as ACC Dual Credit, AP, and Honors). Junior: Summit Christian Academy has a lot of stuff about it that I love. First and foremost, it provides a Christian education. I came into this private school starting my Freshman year, and our high school Bible teacher is fantastic! He loves the Word of God and his teaching has helped me significantly through my spiritual journey. I also love the rest of the teachers. With Summit being a small school, there is a lot of opportunity to get to know my teachers personally. I talk to them every school day– sometimes about academics; other times about life. They are so kind, passionate, and loving. Like I said, Summit is a really small school. My Junior class consists of less than thirty people! The community is so great because you get to know everybody really well. That being said, it isn't perfect. With the small community comes a lot of drama, and students fight amongst themselves quite a bit. With all of this being said, I look forward to the last two years of my high school education.... Senior: In my experience, Hill Country Christian School was a great example of a very small school that was run well. It ran as well as it did because of the small size, but that was also it's main downfall. When you go to a smaller school, the competitive pool is, consequently, smaller. Parent: We love CLCA! The tuition is affordable compared to most private schools. The staff know everyone by name, families included. All are welcome. We're pleased with the curriculum and appreciate the newsletters telling us what our son will be learning each week. This is our son's first year, but so far, we're very impressed with the academics. I love how the kids learn about things relevant to the seasons. For example, in October they learned about pumpkins, spiders, and bats just before Halloween. As parents, we appreciate that the school embraces parent involvement and provides multiple ways to stay involved. I feel safe sending my son to school all day knowing that he's learning to love Jesus and our family values are being reinforced. My son is learning the importance of serving one's community and helping those less fortunate. He is learning about gratitude and empathy, inclusion and teamwork. Kids are taught to analyze, think, and communicate in a constistently more challenging level at each grade. Real science is taught daily! Strong work ethics are rewarded more than studying for a single test grade. The kids a friendly and warm creating an environment where the introverts and shy can flourish. It's a school that focuses on itself as a community. Participating in athletics is made easy and everyone gets to try and improve as part of private school leagues. Parent: The GSA walks the walk! Everything they state in their mission (and more) they put into practice. As parents we see this for ourselves at morning meetings, the various school functions and volunteer opportunities. The culture is welcoming for families and it’s amazing to see first hand how the girls interact with each other as well as with staff. Parent: Ace kids need teachers who understand that this special population of kids need something fundamentally different than a traditional classroom setting - they get that here. Kids also need to be supported as the young, complex human beings they are and that's where the SEL program shines! Language, art, music, maker space and PE educate the whole child and encourage risk taking and creativity. For the kids at Ace, there's nowhere in Texas that can do what Ace does for them. Parent: The teachers and admin really know and care about the students. They are responsive to parents and always have the student's well being and growth in mind. My favorite thing about Magellan (besides the incredible teachers) is the opportunity to see my children present what they've learned at the end of unit presentations - in English and Spanish! During the presentations they share their research, practice presentation skills, demonstrate teamwork, and reflect on lessons learned. I see multiple subjects (science, art, technology, design, math, and language acquisition) integrated during the presentations. These skills will serve them well in high school, college, and in the real world. And my kids LOVE going to school everyday.
