Niche User: I am the person I am today because of this school. I attend a top 20 university and I know I would not without having attended here. My education was extremely personal, in depth and taught me a lot about searching for the truth in the world. However, being a couple years removed from the school, I have noticed that many things are not positive about my experience. St. Cecilia Academy is incredibly insular, many girls are EXTREMELY privileged. While there is nothing wrong with being so privileged, it was shocking by the time I was a senior to see how many were unaware of their privilege. There are plenty of girls not like this. However, I always felt there was favoritism by the administration towards these girls. Certain families did rule the scene. loved this school dearly, but by the time I graduated, it became too much.

One also apparent thing I noticed by the time I graduated was slight sexism when talking about students' futures. From select individuals at this school, I felt as there was almost attitude of not understanding why the girls were working hard, as their futures were only going to be raising children. There is nothing wrong with aspiring to be a mother and wife. However, I felt as though it was invalidating my own and many other girls' hard work to attend a top university and have a career. This really struck a wrong note with my parents and I both.

Despite this, SCA made me the woman I am today. I am free-thinking and well-spoken because of my education there. I was well-prepared for college. From a girl who came into high school incredibly shy, but now holds a top leadership position at her university, the effect of this education is more than apparent. I will never make greater friends than I did there. SCA was one of the best choices I probably ever made and will make.
