Parent: I am a current parent, and St. Andrew's is the only place I'd send my children. The faculty is high caliber, talented, and dedicated to their students. I really think there is a place for everyone at St. Andrew's. If athletics is your thing, the school has multiple state championship winning teams each year. If it's academics and college prep, the school offers rigorous APs as well as Honors courses, with more high level options available to students as virtual courses too. Junior: I have been at Jackson Prep since 6th grade and have loved every second of it! The staff and students are some of the best people you will ever meet. I have had the best mentors through the years. So many amazing teachers have taught me valuable lessons not only in the classroom, but also out of class. I feel that Jackson Prep gives you so many more opportunities that you may not get at other schools. The college counseling program is amazing. The art department is absolutely amazing! Junior: Jackson Academy offers a wide variety of opportunities for its students. There is a wide variety of boys/girls sports that are very successful at the state level, including a D1 producing girls VB team. JA also offers strong arts programs such as show choir, band, theatre, and color guard. Unlike any other MS school, JA offers a sports broadcasting program comparable to SEC sports productions. JA's history and English departments are the strongest academic aspects of the school. The maths and science departments are good, but nothing exceptional. Parent: Making the decision to partner with SSC to educate our boys was the best decision. Being part of the SSC for the past 7 years and counting has been life changing . As parents of members of the classes of '21,'22, and '25 we have watched our boys thrive. SSC is the complete package. Academics:The Marine Science Department is phenomenal. Imagine being waist deep in the Gulf of Mexico during science class. The Academic Assistance Program for those with learning differences is a stand out. Athletics: besides the big 3, SSC offers soccer, lacrosse and many others. Clubs: Student Council, Scuba and Academic clubs are a small sampling. Senior: St. Joseph Catholic School is overall a great school. Although it is a somewhat smaller private school, I find it to have a very welcoming environment. Alum: I am very pleased with Mount Salus. They provide a wide variety of academic, dual-enrollment, and extra-curricular opportunities. The teachers are understanding and open-eared. Mount Salus makes it clear, they care for God's children, so I would feel comfortable sending a parent there. As an alum, I am proud to represent the eagles everywhere I go. Senior: My experience at Lee Academy has been good and bad at the same time. I have made really great friendship with every at this school. The best thing about Lee Academy is that it is really small so students will be able to know each other instead of big schools where students do not know half the people that attend. We have started a new tradition where everyone is on different teams and we all play different games all throughout the school year. This new tradition helps everyone learn how to work as a team. Senior: I began attending Our Lady Academy in Bay St Louis, Mississippi at the beginning of my seventh grade year. I cannot believe five years have gone by so fast! Senior: I rated Russell Christian Academy a 5 out of 5 if I could rate the school more than a 5, I will definitely do it! I went to school here for my whole high school years and will graduate from here on June 12th 2020. Parent: GCS offers an academically-challenging, Christ-centered education. My children absolutely love this school, their GCS friends and teachers and appreciate being a part of the Grace family. The sports programs have been beneficial to my children in helping them develop character and deepen friendships. Being in MS, I’m especially grateful that my children attend a school that is both Christian and racially diverse. The current senior class Star student has a 34 on the ACT. I appreciate that GCS offers excellent students the classes and curriculum content that they need to excel academically. And finally, I appreciate that the students memorize God’s Word in class from Pre-K all the way through high school. The Bible classes GCS offers are taught by local ministers and are geared towards helping the students develop and strengthen their Christian world and life view. Junior: I started attending NorthStar two years ago and I have loved learning there! The diversity of students and perspectives and the dedication of teachers to their students is really what makes this school special. It is an accredited Christian school and gives a lot of opportunities for student leadership and for students to form meaningful relationships with each other. Many of my lifelong friendships were formed there. The school has rigorous coursework which surprised me at first, but it was refreshing and being online teaches you many valuable skills I wouldn't have learned as quickly otherwise. I do wish they hosted more meetups like they did in the past and some of the courses have a little too much of a heavy load, but otherwise, I would recommend this school, especially for students who feel like the traditional school system is too dragged out or they wish graduate earlier.... Senior: I’ve been at Heritage Academy for many years and plan on graduating in May of 2023. I have a 4.0 GPA and take as many honors and dual-credit classes as possible at my school. The teachers are notably skilled in the subjects that they teach and professional and non-biased in their grading. The school is fairly small so the classes are smaller and the student to teacher ratio is is low. The school also offers many clubs and electives to further strengthen our skill to function in society. The cafeteria food is great and the administration of the school is dedicated to their positions in the school. The school has won many awards and I wouldn’t choose another one if I had the choice, however, I believe the school should be more accessible to more people in my community.
