Alum: As one of the 'wealthy Chinese' students that was mentioned in the previous comment, I have something to say. Yes, our 'wealthy' parents are paying roughly 40K per year in hope of getting their children a better/different education. Here at Riverstone, the teaching quality varied GREATLY and I really meant it. I met some of the best teachers in Riverstone who are so passionate about teaching and sincerely care about their students, but some teachers seemed unqualified for their jobs. IB diploma is a rigorous program, yet some of the teachers have such limited knowledge about the subject itself! It's somehow horrifying. After I came to University, comparing to the folks who did IB in Asian countries, I felt like I have so much catch-up to do. The previous comment about math is absolutely true...
Undeniably, I had so many great experiences at Riverstone, the small community, the outdoor education, etc, but I also have to admit that the education I'm getting here is not worth 40K.
