Sophomore: Annie Wright has people whom I want to surround myself with; people who are passionate about learning. Not enough words describe how much I love the Annie Wright community. The teachers, staff, and faculty care, which drives the students to care as well. Annie Wright has so many programs in both the arts and athletics. They provide so much support for individuals who need extra academic support. All of this is to build a strong community and prepare us for the many years ahead. Parent: We have only been at CWA for the last two years, but WOW what a find for a family new to the area. The other schools we looked at were pretentious with strict dress code and a canned IB approach that we could have gotten at the local public middle school. At CWA, it's all experiential, hands-on, and super fun. My son gets tons of opportunity to pursue his interests like robotics, soccer, and band while learning the curriculum lots of extra-curricular programming right on campus (mine takes his private music lessons during and right after school), all the major sports are offered even in MS. They even manage an amazing Outdoor Education program and are taking the kids to Puerto Rico next year in grade 8. We absolutely love Charles Wright and whether you are a full pay family or need financial aid (which they give generously) we feel strongly that everyone should learn more about this hidden gem of a school. Senior: Bellarmine has given me many opportunities I otherwise wouldn't have had at any other school. Despite this, I'm not certain it has been worth the cost. Bellarmine's course catalog is decent, with a fair selection of AP and honors classes. Some important courses are missing, like AP Bio and AP Euro, but altogether a decent selection. Its true strength lies in its co-curricular programs: Model UN, Robotics, and Marine Chemistry. Model UN and Robotics can be had at other schools, but Marine Chem is unique to Bellarmine. The opportunity it provides for high schoolers to get involved in real research is unparalleled, and has opened so many doors for me. Bellarmine's Junior Encounter is fantastic and actually changed my life. Go on Encounter! One more thing: the teachers are a mixed bag. I've had some fantastic teachers during my time here, especially in the English and History departments and others who are either lazy or downright cruel, though COVID was likely the cause of this.... Works Here: Concordia offers a unique, personalized education to students in grades K-12 on one 7.5 acre campus. Teachers truly care for each child and strive to help all children succeed. The school believes in helping students to discover their gifts and use them in service to the community around them. My children are each very different, and both of them were nurtured as individuals and encouraged to explore their interests and hone their talents. Senior: I really enjoyed my experience here. I have gone to this school since Pre-K and I have met some of my closest friends here at this school. The events and sporting matches are always so much fun along with the pep assemblies. I would say the worst part about my experiences is that the school is not always great about communicating and can be stricter about specific things that seem odd at times, but I have overall had a pretty good experience at this school.... Parent: Life Christian Academy was where I went to school and I was more than prepared for college as well as poured into by the staff and teachers over 20+ years ago, now my children attend and it has only gotten better! More extracurricular activities, more technology, more sports more outreaches, and the list keeps going. While this school is a major financial investment, it is the best we have ever made. My children’s academic, and spiritual growth is of the utmost importance to this school. Senior: I enjoy the fact that Evergreen is a small school. It allows me to participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities, and build relationships with everybody in the school. The academic level is excellent, keeping me challenged and engaged while not being overwhelming and allowing me room to participate in other activities. My freshman year, I didn't like my classmates, but that has only gotten better as the years progressed and people have joined and left. Some of the teachers aren't great at their jobs, but the majority of them do a great job of teaching and helping us students. Freshman: I have been at Tacoma Baptist since pre-kindergarten, and I never want to leave. Everyone here is like a family. The teachers will check in on you if you're having a bad day, and my classmates are all super close. There is a comfortable, Biblically based culture at TBS. People who are newer to the school often comment on how kind everyone is, and how our community is so much better than their previous schools. We are taught by amazing teachers who are super knowledgable, but also fun, kind, and caring. The small classes, while maybe limiting clubs or elective options, allow for positive learning and good connections with classmates and other students. Additionally, because it is a small school, many people use multiple talents, instead of having to choose one. a Drama kid could also choose to do art, basketball, volleyball, Spanish, and track, all in one year (although these aren't the only options). Senior: Covenant is an excellent choice for a college preparing, God honoring, and community based school. It hosts an impressive faculty who care deeply for the student’s success and all strive for a close knit community. They offer a wide range of classes and the class sizes are small so you can get personalized relationships with the teachers and form tight bonds.
