Senior: Fremont County School District No. 1 is a great learning community. I have been going to school in this distric since I was five years old and have always loved it. Every teacher is excited to help students learn the most in the best way possible. Classes are small and interactive. The admin love to hear feedback from students and care enough to change what they need to in order to make students as successful as they can be. They offer a great amount of elective classes at the high school level as well as core classes. Over ten Advanced Placement courses are offered at the high school in order to further higher level students on their academic journey. The teachers and other staff all care about the students personally and are willing to help them in any aspect whether thats academic, social, mental, or even physical. Senior: I go to Powell Wyoming High School. This public school allows you to participate in many activities such as a variety of sports (girl's and boy's swimming, football, golf, tennis, volleyball, basketball, indoor and outdoor track and field, and soccer) and programs (speech and debate, skills USA, letter club, robotics, student council, art guild, band, choir, drama, erocne, FFA, and publications). Junior: Overall, I would say that the district is more than competent in academics and sports. There is a strong motivation from students and teachers to do well. Unfortunately, clubs aren't highlighted nearly as much as they should be. Incoming classes do not have any sort of drive to join extracurricular activities that aren't sports. Additionally, the district is in Wyoming, so the world view is pretty limited. Alum: My family moved to Shoshoni in 1962 and I was in the class of 1971. I have had many of my family go to Shoshoni Schools. Sisters, Children , Nieces, Nephews, Grand children, Uncles and a Aunt. All loved the School. SHS is known for it's great teachers. We have many out of District students choose to come to Shoshoni schools. Last year our elementary was ranked in the top two in Wyoming and received a national award. Our New $50,000,000.00 school is amazing. It has all of the new Bells and Whistles. Senior: Natrona County is a great school district with very few problems. I have had a really good experience here and I've met some great people, both students and teachers. Of these relationships, many will last a lifetime. The individual schools all care for the students greatly and most every building is either new or well kept. I always feel safe and if I every ran into trouble I know many people who would jump in to help me. Even while attending in-person school during this global pandemic, I have felt safe and protected due to the fact that the district requires us to wear masks and social distance despite outside opinions. Senior: Douglas High School (DHS) is a great school to go to so that you may get the high school experience. The teachers are amazing; they are always able to help the students. Also the teachers and administration give us the space we need to express ourselves in a safe welcoming environment. Our sports and clubs are very accepting to everyone. We do a lot of fun activities at DHS like pep rallies, parades, assemblies and many more. Senior: I remember how excited I was the first day of kindergarten to become part of the Longhorn family. Meeteetse has been a great place to grow and learn. Over the past couple years I have noticed a tending occurrence in our school. It is truly not a fun environment anymore, you can see it in teachers, staff, and students faces everyday. I don’t want to see this school keep spiraling down this road for the next generations to come. This place has always been a family, but we’re starting to lose it. I believe that there are many ways we could come to fix this problem. If you look at any school you can see that they all have some sort of a student center. I also believe this could make studying much more efficient rather than being pushed into a different teachers room during study hall time and or college class times. Senior: Sheridan County School District Number one has the kindest elementary, middle, and high school staff anyone could ever meet. The staff would act as another parent, which really affected me. They listen to anything that troubles you, and take action in a second. Most schools, teachers are there to teach education, but in SCSD-1, not only do they do that, but they teach you about life and character. Also, the education prepares us for anything that’s ahead in the future. I’ve learned so much from the teachers there, and it will help me become a great doctor one day. If I would change anything at SCSD-1, I would attempt for more opportunity classes. Since the schools have at the most 150 students, there aren’t very many unique classes that could make students have a passion for and possibly start their career paths towards it. Freshman: In the Big Horn district #4 school I like that you can be open about what you do and don't know. It's excellent that any student can go to a teacher for educational and personal help. Riverside High school is a part of a very tight Knit community, and is the heart of the town. Sophomore: This is my second year at Green River High School. Through out the year, I've experience some trouble with learning and understanding the lesson. With the help of the tutoring program from the school, I was able to accomplished the lesson and better yet, an improvement of teacher-students interactions. Other than the tutoring program, the school also offer many more academic programs. Such as, Advance placement program, middle college program, and college classes. On the other hand, the school also offer many fun activities through out the year. Compare from the time when my parents went to the Green River High School to the time I am attending to the same school, I would say that the school has improve a lot. Junior: I am a student enrolled in Wyoming Connections Academy with the Park County School District. Being a student here has given me the flexibility to pursue my dream of getting my private pilots license. I plan to complete this training and be able to complete my check ride by my 17th birthday in March of next year. I am also able to dual enroll with college courses so that I can fast-track my bachelors degree in aviation and enter the work force, fully trained, sooner than most. I can do my classes at 4 in the morning, in the evenings and weekends, or whenever I have time while balancing a job and flight training. Niche User: This school is a hidden gem in Wyoming that sits in the beautiful Ten Sleep valley. Students excel in many programs and aspects and have opportunities to participate in all extracurricular activities. Teacher-Student ratios are ideal and teachers are often recognized at a state level for their teaching ability and results. Somehow, even without AP classes, their ACT scores are usually the best in the State of Wyoming and their students are accepted to top-tier, ivy-league type, universities on a regular basis. Their students that stay at the local colleges also excel far beyond the average student. They have something good figured out over there. Housing there is hard to find and expensive, the community is very small and very tight-knit but welcoming. Senior: Big Horn High School is an excellent experience for students overall! Almost every teacher employed at the school seem to pursue a one-on-one relationship with each student attending which results in exceptional academic scores all around. It was a top 500 school three years in a row and also a Blue Ribbon school in 2011. If I had to change an attribute about my high school, however, it would be diversity/population. There is a large number of students affiliated with ranching and harvesting which leaves very few students that are of different cultures and ethnicity.
