Senior: I enjoyed my high school experience at Shorewood, but I also know that my success and happiness have a lot to do with my race and interests. Shorewood is not at all diverse, mostly because the North Shore area of Milwaukee is predominantly white. I also have interests in music and the performing arts, and because of that, I was able to thrive in Shorewood's arts programs. However, they started to decline during Covid and now are just a fraction of what they once were when I started high school. Shorewood's campus and overall location is very safe. We are not at all good at sports and participation in sports teams is very low. Most of the teachers are good, and the school does a very adequate job of preparing you for college.... Senior: I loved my experience with the Greendale School District. All throughout my school years, I was surrounded by teachers that cared about me and encouraged me to learn. Greendale always provided a comforting environment that allowed for me to focus on my studies and embrace my academic potential. Greendale is not perfect, of course- every school district has some flaws- but I always felt very lucky to go to Greendale. Our staff members are set on pushing their students towards success. The teachers push their students so that they can fulfill their full potential. Along with academics, Greendale has always offered a multitude of extracurricular activities for the students to get involved in. Alum: The academic standards are incredibly high at this district, the high school is %100 a college prep high school and prepares the students extremely well for the content and workload of a typical college student. The teachers are phenomenal, they take the time to adhere to the student's needs and genuinely care for the wellbeing of every student. The heart of this school district is with the teachers, however the School Board tends not to listen to their concerns.The theater program is very advanced with a large stage and many musical/play productions. Senior: My parents transferred me to this school my sophomore year, and that’s the best decision they have made for me! Middle School Student: I really enjoyed my time at Wisconsin Hills Middle School! Most of the people there were really nice and caring, and I felt so comfortable talking to my friends and teachers. The academics are really good too, at my school. For math, the school district offers numerous opportunities to excel in the subject, as they place you in more advanced level courses that your other peers if you need a challenge. The teachers and staff are also super encouraging and helpful if you need extra guidance in any subject. Senior: Marshfield, does a great job in preparing you for when you're about to go to college or just simply to be on your own. You learn a lot from other people and make great groups of friends. There's many clubs and activities available that you could never get bored at the school! The teachers are wonderful as well! Absolutely love helping the students and is very patient. Alum: When I was at PSD, it was a very good district. I was there from kindergarten to graduation in 2019 and I loved it all. It has amazing facilities, teachers, and academics. I learned a lot and learned to love learning through this district. Some of the downsides of this school is their technology/computer departments are lacking. They don't teach much and aren't very complete; thrown together. As someone who loves computers, this was annoying for me. Another downside is the diversity of the school, there is basically none. Senior: The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School district is the only school district I've ever known, but that doesn't mean I can't tell it is one of the best districts in the state. There are many excellent teachers at the high school, especially in the advanced and STEM classes. For example, every one of my math teachers has been encouraging, inspiring, and phenomenal in all respects. Additionally, the music program is amazing, with many different class options and bands that preform across the country in many competitions. I am an enthusiastic member of the school's top jazz band, which has performed in the Essentially Ellington Competition. The culture in the music program has made my high school experience amazing, with many students that appreciate both music and each other. My experiences in elementary and middle schools were just as rewarding. Of course, the district isn't perfect, with some administration and diversity issues. Senior: My experience at Kimberly High has been an experience I would never replace. The environment is one of the most friendly and kind to all.
