Parent: As a working parent of two students during the pandemic, I would have to say that Wyoming has done a tremendous job balancing safety for both students and staff along with maintaining excellent instruction for all students, whether in-person, remote or hybrid. We have always been impressed with the quality of the teachers our children have had in the classroom. This year they have all risen to the challenge and our students (3rd and 6th grade) have continued to learn and progress despite the plethora of challenges presented by the pandemic. The approach of educating the "whole child" is evidenced by the inclusion of the extraordinary arts and music programs within the curriculum. Junior: I entered Loveland as a kindergartener in 2012. Throughout my experience, I have learned one thing this school district tries really hard. The district had a problem passing levies to improve the function of the school but did not give up, it took almost 4 levies until one finally passed. The district has different programs installed in the school to make students feel included, for example, the middle and high school has a hope squad that allows students to get one on one help from their elected peers. Along with this is a student-elected student council allowing students to have a voice. The school spirit has grown over the past few years at football games and during homecoming having events like powder puff and dress-up days. All the school spirit makes school more enjoyable and feels as if the school is one community. Sophomore: The school is very big and well funded. Though there isn't a library at the school, there areany other aspects that make up for the lack of. One thing is that there are a lot of clubs and extracurriculars to choose from and they offer more difficult courses for students that want to challenge themselves. There is swimming, tennis, footbal, soccer, golf, track, cross-country, and even a bowling team. The academics are competetive and we are ranked high in division 1 in many sports. In addition to sports, MHS values academics very much. Senior: The teachers make the experience a lot better. It’s easy to make long-lasting connections with them. I also love the opportunities we’re giving at Lakota East. They offer many AP courses that’ll get us prepared for college. I love how the counselors listen to what you request. They are helpful in making a choice. They are sincere and optimistic people. It is also easy to make new friends because the school is filled with many kind individuals. Junior: I have been at Beechwood High School since kindergarten. Throughout the course of these 13 years at Beechwood I have seen many things change. All of the changes have been very good to the community and the school as a whole. Some things I would like to see change are the food, I know that isn't a high priority but the food at our school is not very good and it makes some people not feel good. Another thing I would like to see change is the parent involvement, involving parents more into the school atmosphere would give Beechwood the kick that it needs. Overall I believe that Beechwood is a good school and should be taken more seriously and the effort it puts in needs to be given back as well. Senior: There are many different choices for classes. There are different levels of classes and they offer almost any class imaginable at Oak Hills. The lunches are not bad but they are not the best. the lunches are edible and are sometimes good. The school is big and there are many different types of people. There are many extracurricular activities for many different types of people. We have a lot of sports teams, a baking club, no craft club, NHS, health professionals club, and many more. At Oak Hills it is easy to find something that you have fun doing and fit in somewhere. However, the class rank system at Oak Hills is not the best. The person who has the highest number grades in the hardest classes may end up ranked below someone with lower number grades in easier classes. Junior: Throughout my 12 whole years in the Ross Local School District, I was never disappointed. Ross offers so many opportunities, extra curriculars, and so much support from all of the staff. I was never disappointed in the performance of Morgan Elementary, Ross Middle School, and Ross High School. I have never heard of another district with such passionate teachers. The teachers employed by the Ross Local School District go above and beyond ever single day for their students no matter the circumstance. The bond between teachers and students in this district is outstanding. Along with their passion for teaching, the staff will do anything in their power to insure that every single student will succeed both in school and in their futures. The leadership of all 5 schools in our district is insane, with every educator always wanting the best for their students and staff. Senior: Milford has come a long way in the past years that I've been attending here. In Junior High, I found the rules to be quite old-fashioned and not with the times. We still had a very strict dress code that was clearly targeted toward female students. There were also rules such as not allowing mobile devices during lunches and having assigned lunch seating. Lunch is a time for social activity and communication. Maybe you needed to send a text to your parents about a ride after school. You're not allowed to do that during class so the best time would be during lunch. All of these rules have dissipated since I came to high school. I like how they actually treat us like adults and give us more freedom. It gives all of us more reason to follow their rules because we can be accommodated if we need to send a text or want to talk to our friends outside of class time. Senior: I’ve been in the Princeton District my whole life. It really is amazing, we have well-funded organizations, well-spoken staff and well-taken care of areas. We take in good people and make people better here. Dealing with all kinds of people is also great, the diversity is amazing. Doing what you love is encouraged here as well. Senior: Norwood has always been such a collaborative community. Whenever anyone is in need, even a stranger. Someone is always willing to lend a hand to their local folks. Senior: The best part of the boone county school system is the support that the staff provides. I know that I can go to a teacher or someone in administration and they will listen and hear me out. I also know that they are willing to help in any area. If I am struggling the teachers make sure to explain to me what is going on until I understand. However, I would like to see more opportunities for christians. It is hard to be bold in my faith because there is not the support or acceptance there needs to be.
