Senior: It is a very small school. The teachers are very involved and care about your success. The only downfall to a small school is making friends. It is hard to make friends and you don’t feel prepared to make friends when you leave high school and go out into the real world. Academically, I would say that I am very well prepared though.... Senior: Quincy School District is the place I call home. The questionable sports teams and lack of academic rigor are present, but they are overwhelmed by the unity and compassion throughout the community. Quincy is faced with many challenges including over an 80% free and reduced lunch rate. Many students have job responsibilities to make means for there family. This creates challenges to give students more intense academic opportunities and build sports teams. Despite these barriers, our district finds a way to graduate over 90% of students and send many first-generation students to college. We have amazing staff that make AVID, CTE, and Gear-UP programs possible. This helps many students overcome the barriers in front of them and accomplish more then the ever believed they were capable of. Alum: My experience at Wahluke school district was very dynamic because I have mixed feelings. I enjoyed being in class most of the time because of the environment, the teaches taught us very well and my classmates and I could understand what they were trying to teach us. As well as my classmates, they were a big factor, I had mosts classes with my best of friends so that was a big win for me because I could learn from the teacher while I could associate with my friends. This brought a lot of joy and excitement to me. The staff did a well job as well, getting involved with the students and helping them achieve anything wether it was academically or just something about life. Something that I would change about the school would be the diversity, what I mean by this is that the school should be more flexible with what they let students do or what they put limitations on.
