Junior: Forest Hills High School is a very prestigious and well liked school in our area and in my opinion I feel as if we have top notch teachers who prepare us for what is to come next through high school and including college. There is always someone there to help when help is wanted and the school really focuses in on the students' needs as well as the teachers'. It is overall just one big community and we work together to achieve greatness. I have seen and heard stories of graduates from my school who have gone off with the resources they have learned and they have become something of themselves, as I wish to do with myself. While no high school is even near perfect, in my opinion our school is about as perfect as one can get when you come from a small town in the middle of the country. Senior: Northern Cambria is my home. Although there were a great deal of troubles throughout these past four years, there were also great memories made. Throughout my high school, I lost two peers. The sadness and depression took over the whole district. These sad events made the good times even more meaningful. Although this year was very hectic, I am so blessed and honored to call myself an alumni of Northern Cambria. I would rate my high school experience an 8/10. Parent: Ferndale is a small school atmosphere with the highest emphasis being children come first. The teachers and staff are amazing and always have the best interests of the children. My husband has coached for many years and I have been a Marching Band volunteer for the past 6 years, and even though our daughter is graduating this year we will remain as coach and band helpers.... Alum: Central Cambria School District is an overall good educational institution. The elementary, middle, and high schools are all located on one campus, which allows for extra safety and convenience. The middle and high school share a school police officer who typically enforces rules pertaining to illegal substances physical altercations, and parking regulations. Many teachers put effort into making their lesson plans educational as well as fun. There are many opportunities for students to get involved in clubs, sports, and student council. They have exceptional programs in track & field and the arts with students who go on to compete at the state level every year. There is not much of a bullying problem, but administration does not take effective measures when there is. There has been a few scandals within the administration over the past few years. Junior: Penn Cambria is a very inclusive and friendly school. All students take the panther pledge to be sure to stand up to bullying and make sure anyone being bullied feels safe and included and all students do follow through. The teachers are more than willing to help and have set up an after school tutoring program for any child in need. They encourage and motivate students through several ways of learning to ensure students understand. Everyone here is very tight-knit and close, however very open to new students. Penn Cambria has the most art programs in the area and many opportunities to explore your interests through extra curriculars and clubs. Guidance helps significantly as they hold assemblies and are always available for questions so you are prepared for life after school. Alum: The things I love about Greater Johnstown High School was the very diverse set of students that attend there and help make the learning experience very exciting and interesting. This school tries its hardest to be a good educator and make the High School experience fun for its students including all of the extracurriculars. However, sometimes some bad apples and teachers fall through the cracks and end up making the school a little unpleasant at times and the administration has a hard time dealing with that person and agreeing with the students on the issue instead of listening to them they mostly just pass it off as "they're just kids" which is not a fair assumption to make but overall Greater Johnstown High School is a great experience and you would be lucky to have your children in attendance there!... Junior: I absolutely love my school. It is extremely small, having roughly 35 kids in my grade. While this limits my opportunities I am able to develop great connections to all of my teachers. I wish I had access to more extracurricular activities and a wider variety of AP classes but my school does it’s best to provide its students with a wide array of classes and extracurriculars.
