Parent: I have a middle school child at PALCS. We have been pleased with the program as it offers flexibility, efficiency, and allows the child to further develop independence and responsibility. Parent: My son is finishing up his third year at 21CCCS. We switched to cyber during covid, as our local school district was not making good decisions, and chose 21CCCS because of their strong STEM component and higher graduation rate. This has been one of the best choices we've made regarding my son's education. The teachers, guidance counselors and advisors are top-notch and provide individualized attention and are always super-quick to respond and offer answers and solutions. There is so much support through tutoring options and virtual office availability that we have not once struggled with academic issues. Junior: Reach Cyber Charter is such an extraordinary school! At first, I went to the school so I wouldn't be at risk during the pandemic. I chose to stay at Reach because they have several educational opportunities that aren't available at other schools. The best thing about Reach is the options! There are endless academic choices regarding what classes you take and how you can graduate. The teachers work hard to help me gain the resources to succeed. The school counselors do everything they can to prepare me for life after high school (college, trade school, military, etcetera). The students are so supportive of each other. Seeing such a diverse group of students be so kind to one another is refreshing. The only thing I dislike about Reach is how difficult it can be for some people to make friends. But I know from experience, if you put in a little extra effort to make friends, it won't go unnoticed. Reach Cyber Charter has inspired me. I've never felt more prepared for the future.... Senior: I have always dreamed of having that amazing high school experience, going to football games, proms, pep rally’s, and having a ton of friends. In my case that did not happen. Freshman year was the toughest year of my life I have encountered. One day in September of my freshman year I woke up and was not myself. I couldn’t get out of bed. I was so scared to leave my mom's side, she was my safe spot. I was throwing up everything I would eat and all around just not the fun, bubbly Madyson everyone knew and loved. This led me to starting online school a few months into my freshman year. Even then I was scared to be home alone all day. My grandma would have to come and keep me company while I did school. Senior: Agora is a wonderful school, it provides many opportunities for students ranging from a wide selection of courses such as AP, IB, or College prep. This school does a fantastic job at providing a class education as an online school. I have never had any troubles with teachers and they are all super nice and sweet. Alum: One thing that stood out to me about PA Cyber is how available the teachers are to help their students. I attended PA Cyber for 3 years and I can say that almost all of my teachers helped me understand material that I emailed them about and tailored to my needs. However, I will say that PA Cyber advisors do not encourage students to go far after high school. I was encouraged not to take AP classes and was not given much guidance with the college application process. Much emphasis was placed on the possibility that I attend community college or a local (likely 90% acceptance rate) university. Since this was not my plan, my advisor gave me no help or advice about applying to colleges and I had to figure out which courses to take and how to navigate the quite confusing college application process all on my own. This was especially true considering neither of my parents attended college. Finally, I highly recommend the CIHS and AP courses nonetheless. They’re nicely structured and helpful!... Junior: I enrolled in CCA for two reasons: to support my busy schedule and to find better support for my brother with autism. I am fortunate that CCA has answered my worries about busy schedules, a supportive environment, and much more! CCA has offered me many academic and other opportunities that I have been able to take advantage of to support my interests. There are clubs, a wide range of courses, field trips, internships, and even external courses offered to students. The teachers are excellent - they support your needs as a student and person, allowing you to do well. The only thing I would say is that the social aspect of CCA takes some getting used to, but because of this, I have grown my social skills and learned how to maintain friendships over distances, leading me to meet some fantastic, like-minded people. Parent: Though you can get the same curriculum in other places as some have mentioned, you cannot get the same advisor support or the accreditation provided by Bridgeway anywhere else I have found. We researched heavily before beginning our homeschooling journey last year and I am so happy with our choice. Senior: I started with Aspira this school year because my sister is part of the faculty here and introduced me into coming to this school. Through Aspira I'm able to have a more flexible schedule to be able to work more and save money for college while also having time to get my schoolwork done. The biggest takeaway I have with this school is the flexible teachers as well as class time this better prepares me for college.
