Detroit Country Day School
2 Best Private K-12 Schools in Michigan
- Private School
- Beverly Hills, MI
- PK, K-12
Alum: I spent 12 years at DCD and it is impossible to think of all the ways the school helped me become the person I am today. Country Day taught me more than just what you learn in class. I was constantly learning. In the classroom with teachers who genuinely cared about our well-being and success. On the field with coaches who pushed us to give our best effort. In the hallways with friends who understood just how lucky we were to be there.
Country Day did everything it set out to do for me, and I couldn't be more grateful. The demanding workload helped me understand how to not only balance studies, sports, clubs, and a social life, but thrive while doing so.
I'll always love everything about my school!

Berkshire Middle School
20 Best Public Middle Schools in Michigan
- Birmingham Public Schools, MI
Middle School Student: This school may not be the best in its district but its by far the most amazing. The principal ,Jason Clinkscale, is amazing and should win an award for his work at Berkshire. Mr. Clinkscale walks the halls everyday talking to the kids and teachers. He makes sure that there are assemblies and field trips that prepare us for High school. The environment in the school makes for a wonderful learning experience. The staff at Berkshire always pushes the students to success and most of the time overachieve. The staff is also very understanding and open to students no matter who they are. The arts programs and clubs at this school are probably the second best in the district. The clubs/arts include Band, Orchestra, Choir, general Art design, CAD, ZAP, skills for success, skills for living, sewing, cooking, Coders club, BMS news, and many other clubs that take place after school. Pick this school its my last year and enjoyed every year I was here.

Roanoke Catholic School
- Private School
- Roanoke, VA
- PK, K-12
Senior: Roanoke Catholic is a school that teaches students belong the classroom and prepares them for either college. In the past years, 100 percent of Catholic seniors have attended college and this year the seniors have received over 2.5 million in scholarships. I started Roanoke Catholic two years ago and it was a big change coming from public school. In public schools you could slide by without doing your homework, but at Roanoke Catholic all work is required and graded as a test grade. Roanoke Catholic does not let you fall through the cracks. I also must say the food is outstanding!!
One thing I really did not like were the uniforms. In public school you basically wore what you want, but not in private school. My first year the gentlemen had to wear a shirt and tie during the winter and in the summer a polo shirt with the school’s logo and khaki pants or shorts. This year they changed the dress code to where gentlemen could wear the polo shirt and khaki pants all year around.
