Junior: My experience at MICDS has been very good so far! I've had mental health struggles and they've been extremely supportive and flexible throughout that time. The curriculum is vast and interesting, it is easy to reach out to professors for support, and the college counseling program is absolutely incredible. One thing that I would mention as a negative is the intensity of the academics. While I have without a doubt benefitted from the rigor, it is important to emphasize just how rigorous the school truly is. It's fast-paced, and I didn't truly realize how intense it was until approximately sophomore year. While I am confident this is the right place for me, the rigor is very important to take into note: it can be a detriment to mental health and extremely difficult to balance the workload with sports, clubs, and a social life. Alum: I am a recent graduate from Visitation Academy, and I can confidently say that it was my second home! I had been there all my life, and there was no other place I would want to go to school. The amazing women in my class always showed me love and support. We grew up together, and I honestly consider all 81 of them my family. The teachers were excellent and had no problem staying late to help me understand a concept. Senior: Most of the teachers are super friendly and engage the students well. I wa sin the gifted program - Idea lab - and had an amazing experience with that. The exploratary classes are super fun and there is a large variety of art classes, FACS classes, even robotics and wood working. Senior: I have enjoyed attending Chaminade. The academic program is rigorous, and the AP and Advanced college credit classes here have really helped me push myself into new academic territory. Alum: Rockwood Valley Middle School (RVMS) is located in Ballwin, Missouri and part of the Rockwood School District. It hosts grades 6-8 As a former student, I can truly say this is a fantastic school that thoroughly prepares kids for their next step in their high school education. The teachers at the school are spectacular and they don't disappoint. Each teacher works with all students to ensure they succeed to the highest level possible. As far as the breakdown of grade levels, each grade level is separated by two teams: Red and Black. Students spend most of their core classes (Math, Science, English, and History) with people on the same team. With elective classes, students spend time with a mixture of kids in their grade. In addition, Rockwood Valley also has plenty of after school activities including but not limited to: sports, theater, robotics, after school help, and much more. Junior: It is a AMAZING school. Many parents don't want their kids to go there, but take them to Nipher! It has so many kind teachers there. The extracurricular activites are great, Nipher is a great school, better than all the private schools. They control kids better than at private schools. Parent: Two of my daughters attended Barat last year, and one the year prior. Barat Academy must be the best kept secret in St. Louis, because they do amazing things for their students. Being a smaller school, the teachers and administrators are able to spend the time and energy getting to know each student. They really put the effort into bringing out the best in each kid and are always there with support and challenge them with positive reinforcement. I have watched my daughters grow and mature with the care, guidance, and challenges presented to them at Barat. The positive environment provided for my girls at Barat has not only helped their confidence grow, they have also built healthy friendships with the other students at Barat. The students there are kind and supportive to their classmates.
