Alum: Pound was a very interactive and fun environment to attend school. The teachers were all very engaging, and prepared us for life. My favorite part was the lunch activities in the library and the after school clubs, which were ran by teachers. The library was a very exciting place, and I never went a week without visiting. The staff helped you find books, and always had a new quest for you to go on. I was also involved in band, StuCo, Wildlife, yearbook, speech, and archery. In each of them I made many new friends, and created great connections with the teachers. I still enjoy returning to Pound to say hello to everyone. Gym class was also terrific because of all the new lessons and units we were able to participate in. Senior: The community is what makes the experience. Having teachers that genuinely care about their students makes a world of difference, which is Lincoln Christian’s most valuable asset. The student body is overall very friendly and accepting, and also very involved. Being that it is a smaller school, students have plenty of opportunities to get involved in extracurricular activities. The only part of my experience I felt I was lacking in was access to a variety of higher level courses. There are some opportunities for dual credit/AP classes, but if you’re looking to accumulate lots of college credit and have a strong college application in that sense, the public schools may serve you better.... Parent: My 5 children have all attended Parkview Christian School since they were in preschool and they have done really well in school. My oldest is starting high school at Parkview, and my youngest just finished preschool. I love that the student/teacher ratios allow the teachers to spend more time investing in my kids. The academics are excellent and I love that the teachers are also consistently working with my children on becoming leaders with strong character. Senior: Lefler was a place of hope for me. I was starting my life over, again, for what seemed like the millionth time. At this point I had moved so many times that I didn't expect to make friends. When people hit middle school, everyone knows each other and groups are already established. This school was the first school where groups didn't exist. Sure, you had the populars, what school doesn't, but that was it. Everyone talked to everyone. My first day of school 3 girls came up to me and tried to be friends with me. That showed me that I could make friends here. My time at Lefler showed me that I can be someone, and it really helped show me who I am. I learned quite a bit about myself during middle school, and I learned some lessons that I will never forget, some of those being: be kind to everyone, no matter how different; don't be afraid to dive in; don't be afraid to be yourself.... Senior: I love how Lincoln Lutheran offers a Christ centered atmosphere where teachers encourage students to grow both spiritually and academically. The teachers posses great knowledge of their subject area and prepare every student for college making the transition seamless. Being at Lincoln Lutheran you are surrounded by teachers and students that care about you and strive to help you grow. They also provide a wide variety of clubs and activities for students to participate in along with dual credit to make college life a little less busy and expensive. At Lincoln Lutheran I feel comfortable sharing my views and opinions because I know my teachers will hear me and answer any questions I may encounter. It has been great being in a smaller school as you know who everybody is and the small class sizes' allows students to ask questions and grow closer to the teacher and fellow peers.... Middle School Student: I go here for school, and I think it's a great school! Their food is better than you think. The teachers welcome you every single day with a warm "Good morning" and a smile. Our teachers are very caring and nice. They support us and us to do the best we can. The students here are kind, funny, and you can fit in anywhere.
