Parent: I am the parent of a very active prek boy who loves to be outside, Oak Farm was the perfect fit for us! He can explore the woods and is encouraged to get dirty and learn by experience. The ability for him to work in different environments and not be seated at a desk all day is wonderful! The teachers/staff at Oak Farm all are welcoming and truly care for the students and families! The after school clubs are fantastic, our son can has enjoyed soccer shots right at school, which as busy parents is great! Middle School Student: I've had a very overall pleasant experience at Woodside. The cafeteria staff, teachers, and counselors have been extremely helpful and most, if not all of my teachers have been excellent, welcoming, and engaging. The food was extremely varied (before Covid-19) aswell. The one thing I would like to see in the future is better diversity. Alum: Early in high school, if you asked me to rate BCS I would give you 2 out of 5 stars. Now, after finishing my senior year and having the chance to reflect on my 14 years at Blackhawk, I couldn’t be more grateful that my parents kept me in a Christian school, even when I complained about it for a whole year. The teachers at BCS are unlike any other. They have a heart for Jesus and for their students. The teachers go above and beyond prepping us for our next test. I know if I need something years down the road, I can reach out to them and they will lay down whatever they are doing to help. Blackhawk has grown me in so many ways. I know that I’m prepared for college academics because of the way I have been taught. I also know that I’m ready to go out into the real word because the teachers have taught me how to critical think and think on my own. I’ve also grown spiritually and athletically. Senior: Overall it was the typical high school. A small and hands on school. Including your social life. The teachers have known you since preschool and probably your parents too. Meaning their options have been formed before you even step in the door. Besides that it was what you'd expect from any high school. On occasions you'd have the teachers that don't care if you learn anything in their class. But, on the other hand you have the teachers that put their all in it.
