Parent: The Altamont School has been a part of my family for many years. I attended Altamont grades 7-12, my husband attended grades 5-12, and I am now a parent to current 5th and 7th graders. As a student myself, I loved every aspect of Altamont. The community, teachers, classes, sports - everything! I have nothing but fond memories of my years there and was thrilled for the day I could send my children to school at Altamont. Although the school has grown and changed in many positive ways since I was there, my kids have had a similar experience. Parent: Westminster has surpassed all expectations my husband and I had for our sons kindergarten education. The decision to educate our son at home or to send him to a formal school was no longer a question after we toured the school and saw the genuine love and respect the staff and students mutually shared with each other. The inclusion of instructional support teachers for every grade is also a huge supplement to the school that we were unaware of prior to the school tour. It gave my husband and I peace to know someone was working one on one with our child each day outside of the normal classroom to build up his strengths and find weaknesses at an early age. My son has grown leaps and bounds this year spiritually, academically and socially, he can find truths of scripture in every activity he performs, and in all the work he completes! Senior: Evangel was a great school to be in. The quality of its Christ-centered education is top notch, and I am forever grateful to the faculty and administration for putting together the amazing curriculum. I would not be able to write the way I write now if not for what I learned during my time at Evangel Classical Christian School. The only issue I really have is the general lack of freedom the school affords its students. I was president of the SGA for two years in a row, and I believe that the student government should be more involved in how the school is actually run. If the school would simply lend an ear to the students, I believe that it would not only lead to better student moral but also improve the relationships between the students and the faculty. Overall, I think that Evangel is an incredible school, but it could be ten times better than it is now if it simply allowed the students to be more involved in the way the school operates.... Parent: I have had 3 children attend Heritage Christian Academy. One graduated in 2019 and is in his sophomore year of college. The other 2 children are currently enrolled. My oldest son exempted 2 college courses based on his AP testing and one based on his dual enrollment course. He was completely prepared for college and currently maintains a 4.0 GPA. The school size, wonderful teachers, and Christian beliefs made it an incredible experience for him. He was allowed the opportunity to play 2 sports, perform in theatre, art and was provided with multiple leadership opportunities. Because of the fantastic coaching staff, my son has also been able to have the experience of playing college baseball. Most importantly, he has been prepared to defend his faith as well as to stay true to himself and his God based on the excellent support, mentorship and biblical education he received at HCA. Junior: Before coming to Bessemer Academy I attended Brookwood High School, at Brookwood i was challenged, or pushed to do my work or to do better at getting work done. But when i came to Bessemer Academy the teachers and students were so opened to me and welcomed me with loving arms and pushed me to do better at my school work and challenged me with my work instead of just handing it to me and giving me the answers or telling me to look it up on my phone like Brookwood did.
