Parent: I am a parent of a junior at GSDS. This is my student's 3rd year at the school. Overall, it has been a very good experience. The major pros are the teachers, the focus on college readiness, the pristine facilities, college counseling, sports, minimal distractions and behavior issues, homecoming and student/ parent involvement. The cons have been the commute (which hinders student relationships out of school), the lack of clubs or involvement in clubs (a great opportunity for future student leadership), lack of communication when there have been issues at the school (creates rumors and speculation).
Expect your student's grades to take a dip when they get to GSDS. It is rigorous yet manageable if your student is willing to put in the effort. Many students come to GSDS for reasons other than academics and quickly realize it is not the right fit. No buses or transportation which affects diversity.

Sophomore: I have been attending Carolina Christian School since preschool. Despite being small, CCS is like home to me. I love all the teachers and staff and have made so many great friends.
I have played sports with CCS for almost 6 years. Whether we win or loose, we are all there to play for the glory of God. I am always honored to represent my school through sports. CCS also offers standard, honor, and AP classes in high school. I think that it is great for such a small school to have variety in academic class levels and sports.
Overall, I would rate my school as "excellent", but their some ways our school could improve. I would like our school to participate in more clubs and field trips. Over the past few years, I have noticed that our school has not given the students as many opportunities for these types of things. I also think our school should have more parent involvement. Parent involvement is crucial in a students academic life. I hope to see improvement in all these ways.
