Senior: As a student who has attended the Wilberforce school from 8-12th grade with siblings currently in the lower and middle school, I have experienced much of the school in its entirety. I transferred from a local public school and a couple things I would highlight: 1. The Wilberforce school functions on a classical curriculum. Therefore, everyone takes mostly all the same classes. Personally, I love the small classes and intimate learning environment that Wilberforce fosters. Whereas I experienced a lot of Chromebook work in public school, there is a focus on discussion and paper and pen work at Wilberforce which made it easier for me to learn. 2. The teachers are AMAZING. They have not only helped me to grow in areas I previously had low confidence in (ie math, public speaking), but also have grown me as a whole person. Parent: My children have been at Hatikvah since Kindergarten and my eldest is now in middle school there. The education is unrivaled. The support from teachers and staff is amazing. They truly care about each and every student in the school - in their academic, personal, and social growth and development. In every area - from reading and writing to math and science to music and art. I am surprised but my children still LOVE going to school every day! Junior: I have been at Timothy since Kindergarten and am now currently a junior. I have loved all 12 years that I have been here and it has been an amazing experience! Timothy has provided me with plenty of opportunities both academically, spiritually, and athletically. In the realm of athletics, I am currently a 4 sport athlete doing soccer, basketball, track, and baseball for Timothy. In academics, I am taking 3 APs and a dual enrollment class; I am also a part of the leader academy, STEM, the vice president of the student council, and the stakeholders club. Timothy has also helped me spiritually through the teachers, chapels, and discipleship groups which help to guide me in my walk with the Lord. Middle School Student: John Adams Middle School is in Edison, New Jersey, educating 6th through 8th graders. It is helped by diversity and academics, but is affected by fights and overcrowding. Overall, it is a very good school. Firstly, John Adams is diverse. People come from homes speaking Gujarati, Mandarin, and other languages. The school also closes for holidays like Diwali and Eid. Thankfully, the student body is friendly with every race. The school also does well academically. Students have won competitions like the National Geographic Bee. Students also perform well on the PARCC/NJ-SLA, with 70% of students achieving Level 5 mastery in certain topics. However, some issues affect the school. Overcrowding is a major issue, as many move to attend John Adams. Additionally, a small group of people fight often and slow down congested hallways. Niche User: It is a great school with great teachers and classes. Mostly everything is great. However, like the other reviews say, it is influenced by Indian culture greatly. Basically, being in a grade level class is seen as undesirable. A lot of this is due to tutoring companies like Kumon. This is not bad, but when your kid is bragging about he is in a calculus tutoring class in 7th grade, and how they are forced to study 24/7 and have no life, I wonder if it’s causing harm and problems for these kids. Freshman: Every school has it's ups and down. Here at Churchill Junior High School I felt that the positives outweighed the negatives. The school had a positive and welcoming attitude. Both the students and staff cooperate with each other. In addition, the school offered a wide range of activities. There were many sports and after school clubs to get involved in. Freshman: The school itself isn't that special but it's your classmates that will make or break your entire experience. Make trustworthy friends and don't take everything too seriously. The clubs are pretty boring and normal but the school focuses a lot on their music and sports programs, so be sure to join one of those. Band was an amazing experience for me and while I wasn't in jazz ensemble I still loved the whole thing. From middle school band you can join marching band in high school and colleges will love that. Junior: The first year at the Academy was very welcoming. The teachers were very well qualified and dedicated to teaching their students. They always made sure to help every student in the class get back on track and give them all the help that they needed if they were in such a situation. Looking at the seniors, they seemed very well prepared for college, getting readily accepted into their dream schools across the nation. The school not only payed ample amount of attention on studies, but also the students happiness. They hosted fairs, championships, and many other activities to really get the school spirit going! My junior year is almost over, and I'm happy to say I've had a great experience in Alminhaal Academy.I never felt a lack in of my characteristics, and I look forward to finishing my senior year at Alminhaal Academy with all the amazing friends I have made!... Middle School Student: Theodore Schor Middle School is a great place and a great place for all those kids coming into the school in 5th grade. Unlike some other schools schor takes their time and eases them into the school, they visit the school once in 5th towards the end of the year to get a feel of the school. Going into the school is already difficult enough but thanks to the kind teachers that are always willing to help you if you need it they make it that much easier.
