Schroon Lake Central School
- Schroon Lake Central School District, NY
- PK, K-12
Parent: Although it’s a very small school, my children received a very good education and were prepared for college. The teachers are very caring and take great investment in their students education. For being a small rural school the students have many opportunities to travel and get cultural enrichment. The guidance counselor office improved immensely over past couple years and he has really helped students pursue different goals. Students physical and emotional well-being is taken very seriously at the school. Downside is lack of diversity in the student body simply due to demographics.

Alum: Delphi Academy of Boston is dedicated to helping their students comprehend new topics, and to learn how to learn - a skill that's needed not only in school, but throughout one's life. It's been two decades since I've attended, and I still use elements of their approach when I need to learn new things.

High School Senior: Crown Point Central School is an amazing opportunity for any student, grades PreK- 12th. My family of six moved to Crown Point when I was in second grade, and my older brother was in Fourth. We didn't know anybody, but changed soon within the first 2 hours. Not only are the Teachers and Staff extremely welcoming so are the students! My youngest sister was in the first PreK ever at Crown Point and it has been a success for 9 years! At Crown Point, the school has many clubs such as FCCLA, and some started by students like Film Club. I'm in FCCLA, CFES, Yearbook, Drama, and others I can't think of off the top of my head. My favorite club at CPCS is FCCLA, because all year long we do fundraisers that help better the community, and with the money we have raised we go down to New York City to watch a Broadway play. I have been to three so far, this year will be my last sadly. My favorite Broadway play was my first, "Phantom of the Opera", and it was front row!!!! It was an amazing experience for not just me but the rest of the students in the group. Another one of my favorite clubs in CPCS is CFES, CFES stands for College For Every Student. And this club is another one of the billion things I love about Crown Point Central School. We have been awarded the name "School of Distinction" for seven years in a row. ?? My graduating year will be eight! In CFES you get to attend the national conference in Burlington VT. At the conference people from all over the State, Country, and even Ireland come and talk about the years to come with CFES and enjoy some great food, as all schools that attend the conference revive their "School of Distinction" awards. You meet a lot of great and inspiring people at the conference, this past October we meet none the less, Lucille O' Neal, Shaquille O' Neal's mother, and Calvin Mackie, two great speakers that inspired a lot of people to get out there and be the best you can, and with the help of Crown Point Central. that's what I'm going to do!

Niche User: We are a very small school, less than 300 K-12. Academics correlate with our budget. We do offer 1 AP class but we are able to take college credit course, that we pay for. Over all a really good small school with low student to teacher ratio. Impoverished area tha offers field trips to enhance and enrich students lives.
