Alum: I loved plainview! The sports, the band, the clubs, the teachers, the staff, everything about it. In our county Plainview is know to be for “the rich kids” or “preppy kids” or “stuck up kids” if you ask anyone from the county that doesn’t attend Plainview. In reality that’s what makes Plainview so great. Everyone looks down on us and in that case it makes the whole school come together as one. We learn when we are little no other school can tolerate us and that just makes us form some type of special family bond. Senior: Sylvania High School is a small school in the small of Sylvania. The best part of me being at the school is that the teachers are always looking to help you in every situation. It being personal or in school problem. The school will help out the family in need. My worst experience here are just some kids can be rude and disrespectful, but that is not the school's fault. Something will change about the school is how sometimes the internet is slow. Other than that, I will not change anything else of the school. Senior: Fyffe High School has some amazing teachers. My experience at Fyffe has been a rollercoaster; however, all schools have their ups and downs. Everyone has bad experiences with people; they can either learn from it or run from it. With this in mind, learning and growing from an experience help someone grow as a person. Junior: I have attended Valley Head High School since Kindergarten, and my experience has gifted me a sense of family and connectedness. This is a 1A school, but we make up for being small incredibly well. We do extremely well within clubs like National Beta, in sports considering our size, and friendliness. I have seen a few accounts of 'bullying' but never extreme, and any issues between students are resolved quickly. I have also noticed that people who transfer here happen to love it and describe it as better than their previous school. We are very welcoming and the teachers are very understanding. I think the downside of our school falls under academics. While we have amazing teachers, we do not have any AP classes. I think this could be changed and make the school stronger.... Junior: This is a very tight-knit community where everyone knows everyone. Despite it being a small school, there are many opportunities at Ider, like being able to complete college courses through Northeast Alabama Community College's Dual Enrollment program. Senior: Very great teachers! I participated in AP courses and I feel I am ready to take on college! The building is very old, but is currently being worked on. Alum: I attended this school and so have my children. This school is so very important to me. The school has always been an integral part of the community and everyone feels like family. Parent: Cornerstone offers a safe happy learning environment for all the children. You’ll feel confident that your child is well cared for while there and given the best education in the area. They take their no bullying policy very seriously, which in today’s society, I am thankful for. The class sizes are small so each student can have the time they need with their teacher. Tuition is expensive for the average household in this area. I understand running a private school isn’t cheap, however, I do wish it were more affordable and/or that there were financial aide options available to assist with tuition costs.
