Senior: OSSM is a place that I am proud to tell people that I attend, but the stress of being there makes it hard to appreciate in the moment. Just like any school, there are things that I wish were different, but they are severely amplified because we live with them every day. Even so, the stress and difficulties are what bring everyone together and make a strong supportive community of intelligent individuals. There have been many moments where I consider giving up, dropping out, and going back to my home high school. Whether it is for pride or for completion, most of us stay and finish. Middle School Student: Casady School is the best school in OKC. It cant even be compared. You see, Casady's education is top nautch for all subjects. All though Casady has the best education, if you want somewhere that has great sports this is not the school for you. The diversity is being worked on, but Casady support all religions! The teachers push you through challenges but will always have your back. Now, If you want to go to a great college, Casady is your prep school! Its safety is off the charts. Lots of security guards and drills practiced every year. Although Casady has a pretty bad sports rating its hockey is amazing! The food is delicious from SAGE dining! Different hot meals every day! The school is kept very clean. If your a parent you can help out with field trips, sign up to be a teacher lunch in, etc. They have great science, math, and technology classes, guaranteed to get you into a food college! Sophomore: We’re a very inclusive school! We even have a Diversity and Inclusivity Council, which I’m on, where we challenge the student body to talk about some deep topics as well as be open to new ideas and opinions. We don’t have as many students as public schools do so the most students a teacher may have in a class is probably 16 versus public school where it’s 20-25 kids. The teachers at Holland Hall are very good at making sure you understand every aspect of the subject as well as making time for you if you need some one on one help. Alum: Cascia Hall is an extremely prestigious school where you can succeed in the classroom, field, or courts. You will be challenged on a day-to-day basis where you will improve in problem-solving skills and increase your networking as you will be around very accomplished people. Cascia Hall is a Catholic private school where theology has to be taken which I didn't personally enjoy. However, various classes are offered where you can find classes to enjoy. Senior: I love Booker T. Washington for the school culture! The academics at Booker T. is unmatched by the variety of AP and IB courses offered. Senior: I came to Harding Charter Preparatory High School in 2019 as a freshman with no friends. I did not know what to expect, but I knew it would be a significant change from my previous school based on Harding's excellent academic reputation. I was quickly welcomed with open arms and taken under the wings of the teachers. I was not treated as just another student but felt a personal connection with everyone. Harding has been my home for the past four years, and I have loved every minute of it. The workload was sometimes intense, but it was all worth it and has paid off. Thanks to Harding Charter Preparatory High School, the teachers, and the students, I now have 13 college acceptances and will attend postsecondary education for free. Senior: At Memorial High School, a diversified as well as academically focused administration is prevalent. During my attendance of four years I had rarely seen instances of under satisfaction and rather more instances of academic challenge to promote critical thinking. Our school's fundraising campaign referred to as "Swine Week" is greatly regarded as our school spirit in which we raise hundred's of thousand's of dollars to contribute to a select foundation. I participated in sports, became the VP of a club, and still see many opportunities for everything to join and get involved everywhere. Junior: Yes, we are "that school with a zoo," though more accurately, it is a barnyard. I've gone to Riverfield since I was 2 years old, so understandably it has become my second home. The teachers here genuinely care about every student, and the low teacher to student ratio makes it so that you form great relationships with your teachers. The community makes you feel safe and free to be yourself. Students are able to be apart of whatever extracurricular they'd like, whether that be debate, drama, tennis, basketball, rock band, student government, etc., and however many they'd like as every team and club is welcoming to beginners. Senior: As a current senior in Mercy School, I can say that I have enjoyed my experience at the school and have learned many things while being here. First things first, this school is an Islamic School and with that being said, you would have to be Muslim to attend the academic establishment. The school offers various tools such as Quran memorization, the Arabic language, and in-depth lessons on Shariah Law. The school is k-12, so there are children of all ages that attend the school. Students are respectful to school staff and to other students, making the overall atmosphere absolutely superb. The school offers a variety of different activities such as soccer teams for the lower grades and the National Honor Society for higher grades. Junior: This is my first year as a transfer student at Santa Fe High School, and the second I walked in on day one, I was astounded at the size of the facility. Obviously I had trouble navigating around the campus, but the teachers and staff were extremely supportive and helpful in guiding the new students. The anti-virus measures are taken very strictly, with regular temperature checks and sanitization. The courses are very rigorous and offer plenty of insight into specific subjects, and the teachers are constantly in contact, offering help and resources. Students are very engaging and welcome to the "new kids". There are many clubs and activities that you could join to get a feel for the school culture and environment. The only real downside is the lack of diversity, but that really is a problem with the entire city, being predominantly Caucasian. Senior: I grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma until seventh grade when my parents got a divorce and moved us to Stillwater. I really enjoyed Edmond and it was a huge change to go from there to Stillwater. I have been at Stillwater for the last five years and it has been actually very impressive. When I moved here I did not think it would be anything like Edmond but the teachers are actually great and very personal when asking questions regarding a certain topic. I love how diverse Stillwater is and how they offer anything you would like to do. Personally I like fishing so me and a couple buddies were able to start the Stillwater High School Fishing Club which allows us to fish outside of school with other teachers who would like to be involved too. One big thing that the school needs is technology for each of the students. Senior: Bishop Kelley is a truly special place. I Transferred to Bishop Kelley to start Sophomore year. So, yes, I was at one point the "new girl." But I never felt like the new girl. Because of the amazing environment that BK is, I felt like I was just where I was supposed to be. Since being at Bishop Kelley the past three years, I've made my best friends, developed great relationships with teachers, administrators, and coaches. I wouldn't have wanted any other high school experience other than the one I got as being a Kelley Comet. Since going to school there, I've become well acquainted with Fr. Duy, our chaplain and priest. Father Duy guides students weekly to help the community sand give back. It’s a smaller Christian school which allows the students to really bond with each other and build relationships and friendships that last a lifetime. Something about ACA that makes it unique is our House system. It is inspired by European boarding schools and all students from grades 9 through 12 are divided into four Houses based off of their character traits. These Houses participate in competitions in order to win and be the House of Honor for that Quarter. Junior: Mount St. Mary Catholic High School is a great place to find a home inside of a school. All of the students are very friendly and the smaller classes leave room for collaboration and individual teaching. The school does have a uniform, which can be beneficial for some students. They are also stricter on things such as phones and personal expression.
