Parent: I attended Collegiate and had a great experience. A few years ago, I was able to come back as a parent. I value that my kids are in small classes, on a safe and beautiful campus, with robust enhancement offerings. I'm blown away by what my kids are learning and love the questions they ask me on the daily car ride home. I can tell they're receiving a high-quality education. They're excited to go to school! I also appreciate the expertise of the faculty and administration. They care deeply about the students and are happy to help families, even if it has nothing to do with school. Senior: I truly enjoyed attending Andover Central. Throughout my 4-years of attending the school, I always felt welcomed and knew there were people behind my back whether it be the staff and faculty or even my own friends. The school made me enjoy my time as a high schooler and I would not have wanted to go to any other school. Senior: The school is an amazing place that accepts diversity and strives to make sure each student is involved and is learning. Recently, the school has made many new rules and opportunities to make sure students are focusing and using the opportunities given. They make sure each student has a club and set up a system where students are aware of what they need to be successful throughout their high school years. My best experience is that they encourage me to always work ahead. I was told how I could get college credits and Ahearn an associates degree by the time I graduate. I did not even ask the staff how to do it. They initiate this conversation with everyone to make sure they hear word of what they can do. Slight worst part about the school is teachers retiring or leaving. There are so many teachers that are quite old and teach Advance Placement classes so well. Senior: I love Trinity Academy, as it does an amazing job of having an open space for Christians to share their faith. My faith has grown so much over the past four years, thanks to the teachers, the leaders, and the students. Trinity has also done a great job of giving several opportunities to students to realize what they want to do in life while sharing the love of Jesus through it. One thing I would like to see Trinity change is when a scandal or something bad happens, they come out and explain the situation instead of hiding it under the rug. This happened during my freshman and senior years, and it is frustrating to not hear the story from a trusted team of adults. Freshman: The small environment creates an opportunity for students to form better relationships with the majority of their classmates. Teachers are very friendly and you can have more one-on-one instruction time. Teachers care more about your understanding of a topic rather than just learning the material to do well on a test. Alum: I really appreciated their ways of educated students on how it is important to not take for granted this education we are receiving. The way they focus on the Catholic religion is also very important for everyone in that school. All the teachers are willing to be there and help you with anything, not just school related topics, they also try their best for their students to be successful in their class and will help them if they are not understanding the subject. Senior: I really like MHS. All the teachers are caring and want you to do well. They will help you with any questions you have and even spend time one on one over materials that you may not fully understand. There are also a lot of clubs and extracurricular activities to participate in. There is bound to be something you will enjoy. Besides the basic required classes, there are also other elective classes you can choose from such as music, arts, woodworking, sewing, cooking, and many more. Senior: I started here at East High during the Covid 19 pandemic. It was a interesting first year of high year, but the teachers made it thought it nicely, doing there best at keeping us in school.During this period I joined student council to work on making the experience the best it can be. We returned to school I made an effort into helping the morale of the school. Over the passed years it's been a trail but the high school has pushed through it. Senior: A small town school, everybody knows everybody and word gets around. Its one big square with lead offs. Walk around once, memorize it in a day. You find teachers that you tell everything and teachers you can't stand. The football boys have to go to volleyball games. Volleyball girls try their best for football games, sometimes making it work. Class president is all about raising money and not screwing up prom. Clubs don't really get recognized unless you host an event. Sports are important, reading is not. The Nest, an amazing student run cafe, but don't go in a group of three, you'll get yelled at. A good lunch table with your friends is when you can have a good time. A hangout spot that's attached to the parking lot but not secure. There's an empty space in the middle of the school. No roof, one door, windows to inside, and rocks. Secure, safe and comfortable. I would like to see that change. Put some benches, turf, and some flowers, call it the spot and you'll fine me there.... Senior: The best experiences that I had was during my sophomore year. I played JV in volleyball and a girl on the varsity team got covid. She had to quarantine so they pushed me up to varsity to take her spot as a setter. She played setting in the back row and they switched her out when she got to front row. When they had me playing I got to play all the way around and pushed the two girls that play front row for the covid girl off of varsity and onto JV. I surpassed their expectations. It was one of the best experiences that I had because people were hyping me up during that time. However, the worst experience was that my class was called the experimental class. When they wanted to see if something would work they would use my class to see how it goes but none of the other classes had to do it so we did a bunch of stuff that no one else had to. Senior: Bishop Carroll holds so many memories for me. There were a few teachers there that I could genuinely go to if I needed help. However, some teachers treated us like we were robots. The teachers did not seem to care how much they were stressing us out, whether it was giving us tough tests or unruly amounts of homework. They gave the excuse, "Well it's a private school what did you expect". Being in a private school shouldn't mean I have to stay up till 2 a.m. doing homework because I had work till 9. Having said all that, the atmosphere at Carroll is amazing. Everyone gets along for the most part and I have made some really great friendships there. The support from students and staff when it comes to sports is amazing as well. The hype is really there. I will miss Carroll and cannot believe that my 4 years are almost up. Go Eagles!... Senior: I transferred to Sunrise Christian in August of 2019. My previous school experience was absolutely horrific. I was anxious about starting a new school in my junior year, no friends, harder academics, etc. I joined the volleyball team and instantly all my fears vanished. I became friends with some of the most amazing girls ever! The welcome didn't end on the volleyball court. Everyone from faculty and staff to students was so inviting and genuine it made the whole process extremely easy. I am now a senior and have grown both academically and spiritually. I genuinely love going to school, I never have to worry about drama, bullying, or worrying about what others think. I would recommend anyone and everyone to enroll at Sunrise Christian Academy.... Senior: Wichita Northwest is a good school. Kids are safe, no visible threats, clean hallways, great community and positive reviews from students. However there are a few struggles that some students share about their teachers not helping them learn enough. Not all teachers are perfect but they believe that there are better teaching methods. The bathrooms are usually occupied by groups of students only to loiter or smoke. It also came to view that the dirty ceilings of the hallways or the floor under vending machines are never cleaned. Senior: Derby is a wonderful school with its ups and downs, I would prefer if Derby would change their policies or get more involved with students so nothing terrible can happen again (for example, the grenade threat!). If they could change their attitudes about specific courses and lend them some more money they could be better than what they are now! For example, they do not give the art departments enough money to buy or fix anything that they need compared to any sports team/department. If they took some money from the sports team and gave some to the art departments they would be so much better!
