Parent: As a 3rd culture kid myself and as part of a bi-racial family, some of the most important factors in choosing the International School of Indiana was so that our family would not just be accepted, but that my children would be seen, understood and be surrounded by other like-minded families and staff that would understand the unique, nuanced nature of what it means to be culturally diverse, especially in the Midwest US. The rich foundation that is the International Baccalaureate curriculum encourages critical thinking, thoughtful communication and an inherent understanding that we can always find common ground, through open-minded discourse and exchange. It is those important, critical life skills, coupled with the gift of a second language, French in our case, which means they are also acquiring the ability to converse in a different language, understand different cultures and keep their young minds functioning exceptionally. Freshman: This school is excellent! I am currently a freshman and i have never felt more at home. There is however a concern that there are not in enough AP courses. I do not find this a problem because if you take advantage of the ones given to you colleges will acknowledge that. Junior: The school has been nothing but extraordinary. It is one which gives a vast span academic rigor and the 11:1 student-faculty ratio gives an amazing opportunity for one-on-one student teacher time. The teachers and staffing do everything with student success in mind. Not only this, but there are many times throughout the day built in for students to meet with teachers in subject offices, complete homework or socialize. The school does an amazing job of providing a great balance between work and fun. With students constantly attending sporting events, club meetings and other school led activities, the different grade levels are able to interact. Also, it is not super religious. Students can participate in relies events at their choice. The school offers amazing scholarship opportunities and highly ranked athletic teams (2021-22 W. Volleyball, M. Soccer, M. For the almost four years I have been attending, Carmel has proven how their high-quality teachers and curriculum can allow students to reach academic achievement. The facility, more specifically counselors, has provided tremendous support in the segway from the remainder of a student's high school experience to college, making the transition much less stressful. Senior: Zionsville High School is a large, appealing public high school. Recently it's undergone changes to better accommodate the lives of students such as a new cafeteria and entrance. We have several options to pick for lunch every day, but usually it's the same few options every day. I've had mostly positive experiences with the staff. I believe most the staff tries to create a safe inclusive learning environment for all students. I also have not had a class where I felt I was not being taught anything useful or being forced to do too much at once. The social atmosphere here is very good. I haven't seen many problems with bullying, and there are little to no fights here. I think this school prioritizes sports over other extra curriculars. I would be interested in events for clubs other than sports. This school is definitely not very diverse. Before coming to Westfield, I went to a small district school that didn’t have many extracurricular that intrested me nor did I fit in that the school. When I came to Westfield High School, I got to take all sorts of classes, meet people with different backgrounds, interests, etc. and felt included in what I did, such as I took part in Westfield’s high school Dance Marathon for Riley Children’s hospital and feel welcomed at Westfield High School’s Gay Straight Alliance club. Senior: I have been blessed with the honor of attending Fishers High School, all my teachers have been caring, kind, and supportive to me as I've progressed throughout my high school career. I am proud to call myself a Fishers High School Tiger and I will always be apart of it. Senior: My experience at Brownsburg High School wasn’t all great but I wouldn’t change it. For starters, my school work was overbearing and sometimes hard to keep up with but, they had after school help and many programs and opportunities to keep you learning and improving. During my freshman year I was very active in clubs and still am to this current day, I participated in cheer, a volunteering club, and many more after school activities to keep me active in my community. Brownsburg had many clubs to offer just like colleges and you can always find one or many that fit you. My sophomore year I was able to maintain a job outside of school while still doing my school work, it did get overwhelming and in result I dropped some clubs but by junior year things calmed down a bit more. I maintained a 4.0 gpa, stayed after school for extra help if needed, and kept in touch with my teachers. The teachers were always advertising their assistance to students if needed and now. Parent: I have a daughter in the Pre-K class and she absolutely loves it! Cornerstone Baptist Academy has a tremendous teaching staff this year. This is the best teaching staff they have ever had. Parent: Heritage is the best college prep school, hands down! We have loved our high school experience there. Even in the depths of the pandemic and the year cut short, Heritage adapted quickly, with the distance learning and quality videos of caring teachers! It was the most thoughtful, and educational, experience. I’d recommend anyone looking for a great college prep school to seriously consider Heritage. It’s more affordable than a lot of the private schools and I believe the education, and faith journey teachings cannot be compared.
